I got a pair at the skidoo dealership in St Albert last year for a little over $300.00. Only 1 set of carbides though.

Should be able to get new takeoffs around $200 US$ or so. Check the classifieds on dootalk. New stuff from a good dealer should be around $250 US$

Actually for a dealer and in CA dollars that seems decent, and you got the 8" additional carbides too right?Price check on aisle 4:

Most guys here are talking USD pricing which we can get them cheap online at Leaders. You may want to jump onto ebay, Leaders pricing...and shoot him a message asking about shipping to Canada, and then do the bank exchange, it may or MAY not be cheaper.....I often am checking pricing back and forth, and depending on the dollar is can swing one way or other. Currently the USD is closer t CAD, but that changes all the time.
But for that price up there, I think its decent....I believe Tom paid more when we got his entire setup at the dealer in Barrie(Ont).
That nice pair on DT classifieds just sold, that was a deal and red handles too. I should grabbed em myself for spare!
Yup, all the parts you listed on page one (except rivets) -- skis, handles, 8" and 4" carbides. New in box. Seems like a fair deal, and zero dicking around with shipping, exchange rates, etc.

Hi Dan,back when you were installing the 5.7 pilot on your 2012 cat, that next year I got the same set of skis as you had shown from same dealer for cheap money, now I am trying to buy carbides for them, and mine have 4 holes down the center and just two holes on outside,my problem is now I will most likely grass drag it,but want the smallest carbide to run in center, but on e-bay I can see 4 hole and 2 hole, all two hole have slanted holes for slanted bolts, but none of them have 4 hole slanted for middle, heck all I want is a half worn out set because I wont run them on snow, just grass. Can you help?Decent used set for 132 bucks in classifieds....Even got red handles.

All pilots run 2 angled studs on the carbides....same on outers...
exception is other types of pilots, but the 5.7 and 6.9 run same.
Not sure what you got going there with 4 holes in center carbide, its either not a pilot, or its been modified maybe?

Based upon this thread (thank you Dan!) I have ordered 6.9's for my LTX LE. I love how Snowtrackers have worked on my other sleds (have a set on hand from experimenting with my Doo) and will be trying them first on the new Winder. I'll go with Aggressives and then try semi's if there is too much effort to turn.
It's good to know that Shaper's and stock outers will make this sled rail too if the Trackers fail me.
Dan, did you try Trackers on the winder last year?

I dont see the need for trackers.....I am not a big fan of them, however I know they go a long way in helping with effort. But with the procross(coming from a DOO) the steering effort for me is already quite abit less. So its nice to be able to add more carbide to the same pilot 6.9 skis I ran on the 4tec, and have less effort. Less extreme rider forward for sure. It will push abit more due to this(then the doo) so I would either use a shaper 7.5 center for most aggressive, or...
I went with the 8"(7.5 actual) Woody's Executive bars, got them recently....shown below.

Dan, I was thinking of trying the Tuners for a bit...see how I like them, see how they do on groomed pack trails(I trail ride all the time on groomed good trails....mostly all Hard-Pack...maybe the tuners won't be all that bad??).
If I do decide to go with the pilots(had them on my Apex and loved them, and of course my Mach Z before that) I'd be going with the 5.7's. I was thinking if I go with the Pilots, I would use the 8 inch carbide in the center(like you're showing in your pictures), and 4 inch on the outer. Is that what you're doing with your pilots?

Certainly....5.7 setup would be same as 6.9 IMO. I ran the 5.7s on my 12 cat turbo, with 7.5 shapers center and stock square 4" outers. Nice turning setup for sure. The 6.9 just brings up the deeper snow performance mainly, and is a blast running a fresh snow lake before its packed down, as the sled gets right ontop and just hauls. Giving a light nosed feel.
I went with woodys executives mostly due to cost factor, shapers IMO have gotten way too costly the past few yrs. I grabbed my studs and carbides from CB performance http://www.cbperformanceparts.com/ under their sale(still on now btw) and bundled it all into a great price for all these woodys products.

Yes, I think if I go with the pilots it would be 5.7's. 8 inch center carbide(woody's), and 4 inch outer carbide. I have to make a decision on if I'm going to try out the Tuners at all, or just grab a set of Pilot's and have them installed right from the start???? Decisions, Decisions....

I knew what I wanted, as I had all season with Toms sled last yr...the stock skis plain suck. LOL Im sure I could have spent money and time dialing them in much better then stock, but I knew they would never be as good as the pilots I had already loved on the procross cat. When I changed Toms setup, I knew it would kick butt, but Tom was blown away bigtime too. For the cost of the pilots, its just a no brainer for me.
So I worked into my new 18 sled deal, to throw in the 5 yr warranty in place of taking sled with NO SKIs.(having the best dealer around makes this doable-Don Georges) Then Ill slap my old 6.9s off my doo onto my new SW this yr. And call it a day.

So if I get a set of Pilot's for my Sidewinder, are they a perfect swap? Or do I need to purchase anything else to make them fit?? My dealer will be putting them(the Pilot's) on when they set it up for me if I decide to buy them right from the start??
