There have been examples where a post does not hold Yamaha in very good light. The poster was chastised by other members and those posts or threads were removed or locked might be hard to find examples in this case especially with the recent thread cleaning going on. I will look though but seems to me they were removed because it caused problems between some members also.

Those are the reasons moderation was required regardless of subject matter :ORC

In some of them yes you bet it was. In others it would seem otherwise. I just checked the lounge where most of these were posted in the last couple years and it only goes back to sept 1st of this year. Good luck finding them now.

If you cant come up with a direct example and or thread I dont feel you have a valid complaint.
Rod, dont look at this as a place you can openly complain ...I want good valid reasons why you think this site is over moderated and I can honor that...if you cant then lets move on.

I just like an open discussion. We shouldn't feel like we have to tip toe around issues that don't reflect well on Yamaha. that's all. My comment was directed to the site members as much as it was to the Moderators. But it does seem like the only posts that get moved out of the main areas and into the secondary areas are the neagtive posts. You'll never see a post that is titled "The Monoshock RA ROCKS!!!" (which by the way I think it does) moved from one of the main areas, only the one where someone has a complaint about it or a question about it.

QCRider, I move more threads then you think. If you think that’s the case, then the moderators are not doing their jobs and maybe we need new ones....
I can tell you one thing...this is an open site but only to a point. As far as I am concerned this site is all about the info and help not about the politics, whining about the dealer, about how Yamaha wont help you or whatever...
My goal is to keep the direction of helping others ...and making new friends., I don’t need another job, babysitting or refereeing a bunch of adults. Its pretty simple to work this site and have fun and if you cant follow rules why do these types of users come back...well hmm let me think, they need to control yet another area in there life and when they loose this control, they have a fit....
Come on...I want to hear it all ...so this is done and over with. Because from this day forward, I expect some of you will get it out of your system and we can just have fun the rest of the winter.
Just some food for thought, its these types of negative users that don’t bring any good to this site that make me want to quit doing it.
I neglect my family to make sure this site is running for what …a few small perks and a pile of complaints… it wasn’t like this before. More mods means more help means less crap that I have to deal with and more time I can give to my family. As much as I enjoy you guys, they need me too.
Lets just respect each other and follow some simple rules that are written and some that are just implied. Lets not twist the rules and respect the decisions that are made. I would just like one Holiday to go by without someone pushing to far or some unreasonable post.
Moderators, you guys are doing a great job and I thank all of you for your help. Have a happy and great holiday.
Tom

Well if you want printed proof that might be impossible if it was deleted which was probably the case right. If it was removed it was probably deleted. I know lots of other people have posted this same feeling after they posted something that is critical of Yamaha's product or service. They may also be too scared to say anything so as not to come up in someone scope as a target! That said lets move on when another example presents itself I will make a note of it then. Until then I will keep looking because I know there was some posts of this nature in the past.

I don't think posts are deleted because they are stating bad things about yamaha, I think they are deleted because to many guys get in a big pi$$er over it. I have read many post where guys complain about something, and the thread stays there until someone takes it to the crapper. The only way to keep this site as helpful and resourceful as it is, is moderation. If the members can't do it themselves, then the moderators have to. JMO Maxdlx

Tom and all of the moderators,
I meant NO offense on my comments. I important factor everyone is missing, is the "FUN" factor of the site. Just like the chat area is a blast, even though I am not on it much latley. the mild bashing is fun, as longs as it stays mild. I have met a lot of great people from the site, and it is fun to tease with them.
The person or persons who complained about my avatar need to get a life. My avatar was fully clothed, and yet it was removed with out my permission. That is wrong. The moderators need to understand that you can't please everyone, and it is a big waist of time to try to. For as the one or few that complained about my avatar, there are thousands who didn't care.
This is the best site.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

Why do you care if people are whining? That I don't understand. Ignore the post if you don't like it, exactly why do you feel it needs to be moved or deleted? I don't read every post, and I certainly don't respond to every post I do read. I don't understand why people think that whining here about a dealer or about Yamaha not helping them with their problem will get them anywhere, but I also don't see what the big deal is. I ignore it and move on.

And you do a great job at that. All I said (and I was not the only one) was that posts critical of Yamaha seem to get pushed out of the way. I could be wrong, it just seems that way.

I have no complaints about anything on here at all, even the moving of posts. You asked for feedback so I gave you some. Try not to take everything as negative or as a complaint, it certainly is not meant that way.

See above...

No doubt! I honestly can't remember complaing about anything to you at all. Again, you asked for comments, I gave them and now I am getting bitched out for giving honest feedback. I didn't offer it until you asked...

Maybe I am just taking this too personally because you chose to quote my post in your reply, but I completely agree with this statement, including the part about the moderators. I would just ask everybody to be a little less sensitive when someone points out that their sled just might not be perfect.

Your right Indy it is all about the FUN factor we try not to over moderate when ever possible, some mild bashing and teasing is part of that fun factor However if it's not a real big deal we do expect cooperation from you guy's whats so special about a half dressed woman's back? I asked you to change it as a courtesy to you, after a few weeks and another couple of "I had to change mine why can Indy keep his" PM's i deleted it for you and sent you a PM telling you why. It's not always a matter of who's right and who's wrong sometimes it's just something simple that can be done to appease everyone. I know you can find something more appropriate your just stubborn and want it your way. Well I did'nt need your permission to delete it so I did, to me it was something very minor that you could have done to make everyone happy but you chose not too. Say's a little about your character me me me! You have a great thanksgiving also
