Do you think they will make any clutching changes for 18?

anyone try a spring such as a Hauck orange in the primary or a Yamaha GWG and stock weights? Hauck is 55 preload...same as stock spring but higher overall force @ 136.
just thinking most stock set ups are running low rpms, this should raise it...hopefully not too much?

My take....From my past experiences with the Hauck Orange spring in the primary: don't do it. It was designed as a racing spring and has short life span similar to that of a mentally challenged may fly. If you want to play with different primary springs I would stick with either OEM or quality aftermarket like Dalton or EPI.
If you need to raise your top rpms the best way to accomplish this is to lighten up your fly weights instead of changing your spring IMHO.
WTF...It's only Aug. 1 and we're already talking clutching?

The clutches are the same. No changes for 18 unless there is small adjustments to the same clutch.I think all the 18's will be coming with brand new clutches.

This may be true but that doesn't change the fact that all the 18's will be coming with brand new clutches. The clutches are the same. No changes for 18 unless there is small adjustments to the same clutch.

Well if that is the way you want to put it, the 18's will have everything new. From the snow flap all the way to the tip of the skis!
Reminds me of a saying, "Hard telling not knowing"
Dam hot out today huh??

2018s come with all new Yamaha engines and turbos , tracks , and even skis , not old used ones. This may be true but that doesn't change the fact that all the 18's will be coming with brand new clutches.

Good Stuff!! But seriously. It seems like they had some serious issues with springs binding on the primary and secondary side causing some issues!! I hope for my sake they get them figured out for 18 or should I plans on a full clutch kit not just weights?

I have a lot of ideas to try but I don't feel like I have a fix yet.

I'm going to send my clutches out to be balanced. I will install the rest of Thunder Products Big Venom kit. I already have primary spring, 911 cover & glide washers. Then i will set offset to 60 to 61mm. From there just adjust rpm's to stock motor specs........for now....
