DALTON WEIGHTS VS STCK WEIGHTS WITH TD TUNE BUNDLE

My recollection is I left them empty as advised as a starting point and took that picture for reference.
Stock helix. TD clutch kit (Dalton black teal primary, black orange secondary set to 60). My rpms were low ~8600.
Wow with that primary spring being that stout,i am surprised your shift rpms were not more, sense you had stock 35 helix, that combo last year with my old tune would have been 9 grand at least.

DTYA-1's are 74.8g empty on my scale.

I run 2.5g slug in each tip for 77.3 total per arm for 9100 on 270 map.

Dan I wonder if dale has different scales he weighs them with,1 gram in some cases is to heavy. But I think mine are loaded to same amount as yours are,not sure if this max 16 will pull that much weight to 9000 rpms,i don't like high engagement springs.

I think so. I took this picture to remember it.
The Max16, BOV and 3 bar sensor are new this year. Zero miles yet. For whatever reason my flasher and tunes last year did not have the data-logging active. I won’t be able to report until I get to ride this year.

ÉDIT IDK Pete I’m going check my weights tomorrow. I have a note I wrote from last year stating 73.9g.
Ok I did weigh my Dalton ramp that was suppose to be 73.9 and you are correct,it is 74.9 on my scales. So do your tunes run good,or at proper rpm with that weight? W/out stock 35 helix, that is...I can get my rpms where I need with that helix, but would rather run my 38 or 41-35.

DTYAs empty have been too heavy to this point for my sled, but my sled runs great actually, just a bit low on revs (stock ex, PowerTrail, TD clutch kit with stock 35º helix). For me I Should have started with the 70g weights and added from there - TD sent wrong weights and said run 'em. My taller lug track (1.6 Ice Cobra) might be a limiting factor on my sled as well - I have not ridden yet this year. Will get out week of 1/13. New for this year will be stock exhaust MS 16 with TS BOV and 3 bar, the new Dalton B/O spring, Dalton 35º helix. Hoping the new gear will pull the right revs otherwise I'll switch weights finally. I don't get enough riding time for a lot (really any) of testing, snow is too far away from home. I've been reading the clutching and weight threads all year so I'm optimistic the revs will be up. This sled is a money pit but I love it anyway.

If you look at Ben's chart and you are never changing exhaust you should be adding weight slugs to the QAY-70s.

If you have a Mod Stock exhaust and up you should start with the DTYA-1 weights.

With the 3 bar and BOV your rpms will probably come up to 8800. I was running 8600 last year all stock and the 3 bar and BOV is supposed to allow the tune to run a good bit more power through the stock exhaust. If it ever gets cold so I can test I'll let you know.

My weights are def empty. What they weigh I'm not gonna swear on until i put them on the scale again. Hoping this years mods get me to 9000 rpms on Max 16.

I just put a set of DTAY1's in my sled. Mine were just a hair under 75gms empty.

Dan,

Are you running a CAI? What exhaust?

I have flashed for the 270 with a Sandale 3" Hyperflow and a Kolenko CAI.

I was told to go with a 1/2" tip and 5/8" base - 79.2 gms. I haven't had a chance to try it yet but it seems heavy. Dalton Bronze in Primary, old Black/Orange in secondary.

Going to put new Spark plugs in tuesday gapped to 20 thousandths and give it a shot.

That 270 tune with the Hyperflow is more like 280

I figured it would be more, I am actually a little nervous of this set up with 91 octane. I am going to get some Torco for insurance.

Yes I do have a mod stock muffler, but as far as a 35 helix,i only have the stock helix,i think what I may try is keep my secondary ulmer set up,with stm straight 38 and ulmer red spring, and maybe switch to DTYA-1 empty with Dalton blue/blk primary,i do have 22/41 gears, and this new quick spool 16 makes very good pressure. In fact it may be to good, not sure what it will make once wide open, but out of the hole goes to 20.5,it does appear to drop after a few seconds, but that's all I was able to hold it,in our trails I was on last week.

The sandale 3" makes big power,i sold mine, and got a MSM,but even this muffler seems to flow good power to.
