This could be a concern if you run the big superhighway type trails at big speeds for extended periods...I certainly don't see this as an issue in my tight trail system.

Ill be honest...I haven’t heard or seen anybody unhappy with their SM Tunes from any Vendor! I don’t know where this negative talk idea is coming from? Maybe before they were released, there was some concern from some, but after a year on the snow, these have been Absolutely superb.

And after installing mine, and taking the foam out from underneath the muffler...mine seems cooler than stock. When I ran the stock tune the first year, I could really feel my right boot heating up from the heat of the muffler. Last year, after removing the foam and installing the SM Tunes...zero heat on my right boot. So go figure?? Was it the foam holding more heat in there? Could have been?? No issues whatsoever.

Do yourself a favor, if you’re on the fense about SM Tunes..don’t be. It’s all good and All GO!

What foam under the muffler are you speaking of? Mine had no foam anywhere near the bottom of muffler. I do remember TD saying to not put the heat wrap that goes around a stock muffler back in there if you were putting shields on a none stock muffler.

Dan I totally agree but I run big trails and do trips each each year!! Last year I did 1500-2000kms of hard riding on the sm and mostly on the 270sm tune!! I have 100% confidence in the sm tunes!!
I feel I ride hard but i am sure others ride harder..lol

I would love a stock muffler tune but am affraid of excessive heat build up and the turbo shitting the bed early

If you have concerns about the bigger sm tunes run the lower sm FLASHES!!! The 240 hurricane tune or equivalent flash from any other tuners will run wot all day long ...imo

Do you guys have snow now,we have around 15 plus on the ground in my town,in northern maine,but because we have had rain/snow and warmer temps than I would like to see,it has removed most of the little frost that we had.

Im sure it was there Beast...mines an 18, so unless the 17’s didn’t come with it? But I’m thinking they must have.
