Yes. All it would show is what happened first. Roller or crack. A roller doesn’t go out instantly so if no mark like the cat one it would mean the crack happened first.Bottom of the spider? Where? Under the roller?
Like the pic you posted before? I will try to get a pic
It’s same crap with the Viper Mufflers Terry. It’s a safety issue big time too. Nothing. Bullshit!Just received a call from Tommy and the dealer on his clutch.
The dealer has contacted Yamaha, but Yamaha will not warranty the clutch...even tho everything is 100% stock. They know it is cracked, pictures have been sent to them and Yamaha says that there have not been any issues reported to them about clutches coming apart. So, with this.....I am done contacting Yamaha and wasting my time to help out. Yes, I am kinda pissed and not a happy camper cause someone is going to get seriously hurt or killed. Good luck to those continuing to use the TEAM primary and the Sidewinder primary clutch.
And the Viper or previous style clutches are not in stock and won't be for 4-5 weeks.

I see your point. The rollers in Tommy's clutch are still good, but will have the clutch today or tomorrow.
The clutch will be totally dismantled and will get pics of the cracks with dye penetrant, spider and wear on rollers for a clutch with 1,486 miles.

My muffler blew out right away 4 miles from TA Motorsports with only a few miles on the sled....TA pulled a can off a brand new showroom sled to get me going, mine was covered under warranty.
But, since then I have seen numerous mufflers of those blowing out. So, no warranty on mufflers now either....yup, bullshit

Lots of information on TY and it’s pretty safe to say No clutch set-up is strong enough to handle 200-300hp without significant wear and tear regardless of brand name or design style. Regular checks and a little preventative maintenance and these SW are Awesome.
Some may remember Back in the day, we carried an extra carburetor with us, a spare boggie and maybe a couple extra spark plugs and it was no big deal, now we just have to get use to carrying a clutch setup, a chaincase, chain and tensioner, rollover valve, a few fuses, some relays, a code reader, some water wetter, can’t forget a box of extra belts, maybe some rollers in case they get worn, an extra shock, and lastly a wallet with lots of credit cards and a bunch of cash because that’s seems to be what these Sidewinders like most.

called a few different dealers all told me that clutches were not covered under warranty. A friend of mine who is not on the site referred me to hauck powersports in rice lake wi. I called them up yesterday and they claimed that they have warranty quite a few clutches like mine already in which Yamaha has not questioned any of them yet. So will see what they come back with hopefully done in a timely manner.

That was a good catch. You got lucky to spot that one!!!!
My buddy and I have both cured the roller issues along with the binding issues we both had by going back to the old clutches.
