2017 Sidewinder LTX-SE. 11750 miles (SOLD)
6600 on heavy hitters. Bushings are damn near perfect.
Over 1000 miles on 290/300 tune with Heavy Hitters( 79g-80.5g) this year alone. (3100 total w/HH) Replaced bushings early this season even though they looked perfect after 2400 miles. Wanted to try the TP bushings.

Thanks. It appears like it comes by the roller. Was this at high speed when it happened?
Farmer says 45mph...the clutch is not fully shifted at that speed. The clutches are cracking through the allen screws and with the gusset removed on the sidewinder clutch, makes the pocket break out. Plus, our weights are longer than the stock weights. This has been proven in a previous comment on this thread. Here are those pictures and video again.

Take a good look at Farmer's primary clutch where his broke thru the allen screws and then look again at the clutch we took a pic of the other night. I can understand dirt making a streak from the pins for the weights moving around. But, look closely at the crack that is 90° from the dirt streak that you are all looking at. This is a very bad problem and is showing up more and more cracking thru the allen hole.
I ride with @farmerschiferl at the TY rides and he is basically 99% off-trail, so this didn't happen at high speed.

This problem just seems to be happening with certain non-Yamaha weights. I can't conclude what exactly happened in this particular case. I am open to being proved wrong, but I have not seen any evidence to suggest that the fault lays with the Yamaha clutch, and no, I am not seeing any cracks, nor I have I seen any on the Winders that come through my shop.
I have tuned quite a few Winders with TD software, but I make the owners fully aware that anything that could go wrong with the powertrain, is their responsibility.
Yamaha motors has zero obligation to warranty any clutch that has been modified in any way, or for that matter, a stock clutch even with a lower HP tune.

Terry is this the crack in your picture?
If the roller is shot and wieght passed it it will have a rub spot under spider like my Cat clutch.

That roller has only 1/16 of play in it but enough to do some pretty bad damage.

It is happening with everybody's weights.... Dalton, STM, our weights, and yes...stock weights. Pictures have been posted and a video has been made clearly showing the lengths of a few weights with a dial indicator. If you are indicating that our weights are causing all this havoc? Our weights have been in production for 26 years. But now the SW clutch comes out and I have proof of all kinds of weights installed on SW clutches, the clutches are breaking in the same area as I have proved time and time again with photos, dye penetrant and customer/other photos. It is a clutch fatigue problem.
Here are 2 pics from yesterday with TD tunes and Dalton weights.

Just received a call from Tommy and the dealer on his clutch.
The dealer has contacted Yamaha, but Yamaha will not warranty the clutch...even tho everything is 100% stock. They know it is cracked, pictures have been sent to them and Yamaha says that there have not been any issues reported to them about clutches coming apart. So, with this.....I am done contacting Yamaha and wasting my time to help out. Yes, I am kinda pissed and not a happy camper cause someone is going to get seriously hurt or killed. Good luck to those continuing to use the TEAM primary and the Sidewinder primary clutch.
And the Viper or previous style clutches are not in stock and won't be for 4-5 weeks.
