I was going to go buy a TAPP today but got hung up at work. Maybe I'll just keep working with this primary.

I'll tell you what else. If you are not careful and be sure to tighten your set screws for your weights, they will hit the roller housing. Can this be the cause of some failures? Can some of these be backing out and striking the roller housing causing breakage?

Thanks for all the info. I was going to make my own bronze bushings where I work but I think it would be easier to just by them. Here are pictures of the bronze roller bushings after @900 miles. Still tight. They seem to be oilite as there is some substance on the bushing but it does not seem to hinder performance. These bushings are not run of the mill bronze bushings. They are actually bigger on the thrust side as not to be pushed out by the rotational force. The shims are also cut to fit the bigger size of the rotational end. The bushings and the shims are matched.
While I was at it I magna-fluxed my clutch to check for cracks. Happy to say am crack free!!!

I was looking for more belts squeeze down low so I switched from the 16mm to the 14.516 mm roller vs 14.5 mm stock.

Technically you cannot “magnaflux “ crack test aluminum but Magnaflux does offer a dye test for cracks in aluminum.![]()

How much are the bronze roller bushings?
I don't see them on G-Force site. I like what they have done here. It'd be great if they lasted! Now get out and put thousands of miles on them!

Why couldn't a guy trim the roller pin down a little so when you tighten the bolt and nut it cant flop back and forth bouncing off the cast aluminum. It's a bummer the roller pin doesn't have locking set screws like the weight pin.
Has anyone tried this?
I would think that would help with some of the rattling.

The point of it being free or set screwed is to not put any force on the aluminum casting sideways. Why couldn't a guy trim the roller pin down a little so when you tighten the bolt and nut it cant flop back and forth bouncing off the cast aluminum. I put in new TP 14.5 rollers in primary, I added tip weight to the heavy hitters to increase rpm, at first I was jumping to 9000 rpm and settlely around 8800 rpm. I am up in the county in Maine with great trails and temp at O. CAI temp between 15 & 35 degrees in and out of throttle. All day I could not get above 8400 rpm full open. What could be the problem for loss of rpm? Maybe 2" of loose snow on top and solid under that. I also have a SD 26 code flash that has not gone away yet. Talk with Yamaha dealer today and the tech said to take out intercooler and heat it to dry it out. I told him my sled was kept in a heater garage and he said that was part of the problem, warm to cold condensation in the intercooler causing the code flash, ran into a guy at the track down lodge for lunch and he also told me guys taking the intercoolers out at night and setting them on top of a radiator to remove moisture, has anyone heard of this, the dealers in the County really know their stuff! Any thoughts on rpm or sd 26 code.
