what effect does changing primary roller size have on clutching. I see lots of turbo guys with the 14.5mm rollers and I'm running the 16mm.

wow either i just asked a really stupid question or no one else understands what difference this roller change makes?????????

the weights fly out further causing ?????????

Het madmann1, interesting question, I wish I knew the answer. Do you know who the turbo guys are buying the 14.5 mm rollers from ? Maybe they could shed some lite on this.

Smaller rollers lower engagement & raise shift force....makes the weight act heavier then it is...upshifts faster.

Hey Turk, thanks for the info. Do you know who sells them ?

Any Yamaha performance shop or dealer can get them for you. I am in central Illinois and I even keep a set in stock!

Hey rxwarrior, Thanks for the info. You got some part #s to make sure I get the right ones for a 2007 Apex Rtx ?

Smaller equals

Smaller Rollers result in less RPM but more belt squeeze and upshift, larger is exactly the opposite. I am running Heel Clickers with 14.5s in my Nytro and it rips!!

I checked into the price. I was shocked, they,re around 150.00 for a set of 3.

How are the rollers measured? Is it the diameter? I bought the comfort clutch from SBM and was told I did not need to change the rollers because I already have the smallest in the VL. I have them out now to change the wts and will check the size. So I'm thinking that some of the Phazers may have larger rollers, therefore, they may be available from the dealer in different sizes. $150 does seem like a ridiculous price.

Measure the outside diameter and it will tell you which size you currently have. They make 14.5mm, 15mm, 15.6mm, 16mm, and 16.5mm rollers. Larger = less belt grab, smaller = more belt grab.

Thanks. So smaller rollers will = quicker acceleration?
Mine are 14.5mm as best I can tell using an inaccurate measure (ruler).
