So after going though my rear skid after using a bolt snap and cause my front tourque arm to crack in 2 places I now have a new problem after welding it and puting the skid back in. After riding today all seamed well until I looked at my rear arm mounts. One is down and normal and the other is half way back in to the tunnel and crooked. As in the arm the to ration springs are on. Any ideas to what would cause this? I know it's not right. You can make it out in the picture kinda

I think it may be your rear arm is cracked. Similar issue here some time back. Broken front arm fixed. Then broke again very quickly. I kind of stumbled across the broken rear arm while redoing the front. I'll try and find a pic for you where it broke.

Couldn't find a pic so I ran out to the parts shed.
Was hard to detect this. I had no idea it was broken until I was putting the updated upper wheels in.

that looks like it would certainly cause the issue, i'm just curious of what cause it to happen? our seasons pretty much over here so over so ill pull the skid and have a look. is it something that can be welded? looks like it could be... probably not because the idler bearing sits there. if not ill hunt one done over the summer and or a new skid and sell this one. thanks!

wow, I've never seen the rear arm snap like that, the teeth in the aluminum torque links should strip well before that cracks. Only thing that comes to mind its the the idler bearing froze and the inner race was spinning on the shaft and heated the piss out of it making it brittle.

I feel the same way about the aluminum should strip but it seams like yamha used some real shitty steel on this sled so who knows. Going to pull the skid out over spring break and get a look. I know the bearing was good cause it was replaced this year

I had one fail in the same exact manner as above. One on flea bay for $55 right now
Hmm wonder if there's some way to reinforce it. That's probably what I'll do. Take it and reffoce each part the best I can, don't think I can give up on her after just one season

wow, I've never seen the rear arm snap like that.

Playin on a Mx track in the winter. 70' table top and I diiiiiiiiiiiidnt quite make it. Hit no mans land. Anything for a movie, right :dunno:

Brap, I'd just replace with new. I saw no way to repair that and at the time didn't read anything about them ever failing. Super rare IMO and I think it would be safe to say it only broke in combination of the front arm failing, in my case in multiple locations.
