I have been dealing with my sled hitting the rev limiter at launch since installing my hurricane 190 kit and after playing with the clutching last season I believe it may be more of a belt issue . The clutching is bang on 8700-8900 in good snow conditions and the problem seems much less when sled is cold or first run of the day. I am running the 8jp and have never blown a belt .i installed a new belt and used the for a spare seemed better but now it is the same I am thinking of running the gates equivalent . I would try the 8dn but if I am going to buy another belt why not a better replacement for stock .i know people are finding good success with the 8dn but I believe this is due to the fact it is a better belt and they are shimming to make it work.So I will just leave it stock and try a better stickier belt any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated.

I have had better response with the Gates Carbon belt than the 8DN. Was getting a lot of belt slip with 8DN. Went to change helix wrap today back to trail wrap, and noticed missing top cogs of Gates with only 200 miles on it. Didn't even notice it while riding last time. Looks like it delaminated along one side along about 1/3 of the length of the belt. I put 1200 miles on my list 8DN with no issues whatsoever, other than the belt slipping. I will be calling Gates as 135 HP should not cause the belt to come apart

Running the gates carbon belt runs good on the trail and Drag Strip

I hope so. Will be calling Gates tomorrow. C12's are too expensive to have that happen in 200 miles at 135 HP, and I was easy on it for break in. I didn't even know it starting delaminating until I changed the secondary wrap. sled performance didn't change noticeably (95 MPH) with it like that. What the! Definitly a defect. Never saw anything like that. Bet they will give you a new one. Maybe two!

Talked to Gates today, and warranty processes pretty painless. Fill out the warranty claim info on the inside of the belt sleeve and send a check for $10 and the warranty claim with your proof of purchase in to Gates, and they send you a new belt
Other option if you bought locally, go through the dealer that sold you the belt.
Sure is refreshing to have manufacturers stand behind their products. Glad I chose Gates.

I'm running a Ulrtamax SX825 , works great ,very very little belt dust , clutches seem cooler and got 2500 miles on first belt ....
If you do run this belt you will find that you will have to take weight out !!!!
