One obstacle I do have......
My wife insists that this machine is HER sled! So when we ride together I am demoted to my SRX. If I go with a Wildchild or Kach's mod, will she start bitchin?
She doesn't stand up or ride like I do. She just likes to cruise and ride with the wind catching her long blonde hair while sitting down!

Rider forward is best for stand up mountain riding in all likelyhood your wife will hate it if she sits.

I wouldn't do it if you want to stay married. You might try one of the adjustable ones, but I would not cut down the windshield.

Hogwash I say------ that's why everybody hates the Apex???????
You don't have to push the handlebars al the way forward as the mountain riders do. Anyway it will update your RX 1 as close to Apex spec as it gets and rider forward does work that's it period........

I think the rider forward is great for trail riding, so long as you don't raise the bars too high. Puts you further forward and the bumps are a breeze.

I found another reason why the adjustable pivoting risers might or might not be the best thing since sliced bread. I had just climbed up through the trees in some deep powder and I was coming back down the hill in the powder and I hit a hidden stump that was about 4" below the snow. It stopped me cold (it didn't break my bulkhead or bend my Holz A arms) and I did a nice improptu dismount.
I was glad everything was ok until I went to get back on the sled and saw my handlebars had pivoted all the way forward from the impact and probably me not letting go of the handlebars right away.
I bent them back ok but I was a little surprised at how easily they rotated forward but, hey, maybe that saved me a broken wrist? Who knows?

Does anyone have a "close up" of their Wildchild and or homemade rider forward mod? I would like to see what needs to be cut out.
Thanks
