Riding in the Keweenaw area Feb. 21-23

I'll be riding around the Houghton-Copper Harbor area with a buddy Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 21-23. Just wondering if any fellow TY'ers might be in the area the same time to hook up with.

Let me know if you'll be riding the area, and we could arrange to meet up.

I'll let Chuck know that you and your buddy will be at Togwotee during that time. I remember talking to you about your upcoming trip during the last TY Houghton ride. I do know that Chuck and his wife will be out west Feb. 27-March 11. They'll be staying in the Snowies, Dubois, and Cooke City during their trip. Not quite sure just when they'll be in the Dubois area. I'd imagine that you'll be riding the Attak, and your buddy will be riding a Rage? Chuck just reminded me today that he's only got 322 vacation days left this year. Damn retired guys.

I'm glad to hear that you're collar bone injury is healing up. I broke mine about 10 years ago, right at the start of the riding season. Those helmets show no mercy when they make contact with the collarbone. I'll never forget the day I went in for my follow up visit with the doctor six weeks after I broke it. I asked him if was OK to go snowmobiling. He said the bone healed just fine, go ahead and go riding.... just be careful. I told him to look out the window. My buddies were waiting for me in the parking lot with the trailer already loaded for the weekend, just waiting for me to finish up with the Doc so we could head up north.

We'd probably be joining the rest of the TY guys in Mercer, but already had made our reservations in the Keweenaw before I heard about the Mercer ride. Hopefully some other TY members will be up in the Keweenaw during that period.

Maybe, If I do get up to Mercer Thursday early enough, maybe I can meet up with you in Twin Lakes? NosPro and myself made it from Copper Harbor to Twin Lakes in 2 hours in a snow storm and rough trails. So from Houghton, should be a breeze. I could make it there from Mercer in no time, I think. lol

We are flying out and staying a Togwotee Lodge. Renting uuhhh an Arctic Cat M8 for 2 days and an M1000 the last day. Jerry is getting a Dragon 700 for 2 days and an M1000 the last day. Hope he's ready for that LOL! We have a guide each day so we won't get lost or in too much trouble HAHA. I rode the 09 XTX yesterday in Minocqua and after switching thru 4 different sleds and a lot of different conditions, I was shocked to have no pain in my collarbone or shoulder. Felt good to be riding

That would work out great if you're planning on heading up to Twin Lakes either Thursday or Friday. We wouldn't make it to Twin Lakes on Thursday until later in the day. Friday we could be there just about anytime. Keep me posted once you guys have your riding plans firmed up.

I'll be riding the VX1R. I'd like to have a chance to see your bad boy. Hopefully things will work out.

For sure. Maybe it would be best to plan on Friday morning sometime? I'll have Sleaddheadd with me. Lets say that Resturaunt / lounge / motel that right there on the trail at around noon? I can't think of the name right now. Great Northern? I think?

Noon next Friday the 22nd in Twin Lakes sounds like a plan. We'll be there by noon. The big bar/motel that you're thinking of in Twin Lakes to meet is the Parkview. The big motel on Hwy. 51 in Mercer is the Great Northern. You guys should have a pretty good ride from Mercer up to Twin Lakes that morning.

Which way were you thinking of heading after Twin Lakes? We're open for anything.
