He will be so missed. Age sucks but he always had a young soul. Spent many SnoCross races on internet with him rooting on our favorite racers. Too soon. Glad I knew him. Prayers for his family.

His wife added a post on Don’s Facebook page this weekend. She said she will post an obituary as soon as it is ready. I will keep an eye out for it and drop the link to it on here when it shows up.

Don had lots of snowmobiling photos at his visitation and funeral today. I was fortunate to be in some of the photos from our trips in the UP. They had a wonderful service for him.
I was fortunate to sit with two retired Yamaha snowmobile division employees, plenty of good conversations. Nothing but good memories, he touched a lot of lives and had a heart of gold. I also loved hearing from his wife how he always looked out for her. Once again RIP dear friend.......VROOM VROOM!!

I just heard this morning!!!!
Tearing up now!
I met him at Hayday's & have talked to him regularly since them
I know he came to the Dark Side with Doo, but he was Blue right to the core
He offered his house to me many times if I ever came out that way
I'm at a loss for words right now

Yes he owned a fairly new Lynx 900 turbo which was all customed out of course. He still had a 2018 SW ltx-le blue anniversary model also customed out, but Shari his wife mostly rode that. He had a new SW LTX-LE on order from Pat's. Then he had a host of some older stuff. A 1997 and 1998 Phazer, a 1988 Inviter and a 1984 SS 440. He had traded his last 2021 SW SRX to the guy that owned his custom 2002 SRX 700 so he had that sled back again. I am sure many of you had seen his photos dropped on this site of some of those machines. He may have had a few more that I forgot about too.I just heard this morning!!!!

It's been since April 26th but I am still in shock he is gone. Some of you may know Don had open heart surgery about 5 years ago. He told me more than once he thought 73 was his number since his father and his grandfather both passed at that age and both had heart issues. Unfortunately, Don was just short of 69 when his number was called.

Sad to hear, RIP to Don and my condolences to his wife. After my stroke in Feb 2022 I have looked at life very different now. Many thanks to my Son in-law (and daughter) as they have been my support to keep me on a sled. If it were for them I would be all done sledding.......

Don Thompson will be missed dearly by his friends and family and Totallyamaha at every Hay Days. This was his favorite place to be and we will miss that time we had. I raised my beer to my friend Don and gave his wife a big hug from all of us.
