Hello everyone! Just found a dealer who is repairing the mechanical cam chain tensioner in Wisconsin! Even before it breaks and is out of warranty! SHEBOYGAN YAMAHA! Talk to Shawn in the service department! Dropped my 2005 Vector off yesterday! They will cover it uder the Yamaha good will warranty if your warranty is expired! Which mine is! They are repairing them even if it is not making noise! Get it fixed now before the rush starts in the Fall! It would be nice if you mention where you got the info from (Troy). There is nothing in it for me, just want to help everybody out! Good luck and let me know how you like their service! This is for the 05' - 07' models. P.S. (I live closer to T.A. Motorsports, but they are not covering it right now).
AFFECTED SLEDS: RS VECTOR/ER/GT; RS VENTURE/GT; RS RAGE/GT; RS NYTRO/ER; RS VECTOR MOUNTAIN/SE; AND VK PROFESSIONAL

All done. Got my sled back after 5 days!! No charge!
Just to let everyone know, I talked to Shawn at Sheboygan Yamaha today. My sled was the first sled they repaired the tensioner on under Yamaha's "Good Will" warranty. (A repair done if your warranty has expired). Turns out Yamaha did not reimburse them enough for the labor they put into it. They were only paid for one hour and it took them 5 hours. Therefore they will not be doing this repair unless it makes noise. (Mine was not making any noise). Hope you can find a dealer that will fix it, before it starts making noise. Good luck everyone!

Okay, silly question, but how do you tell if the CCT is making noise? Could anybody post an audio clip of a good CCT vs. bad CCT noise?

Yeah I'm trying to figure this out for my old man who has a 05 vector he bought new. No warranty left but doesn't seem to make noise you just wait for it to make noise then what hope it gets you back to the truck and then its covered under warranty?

TY 4 Stroke Junkie
On our 2 Rages they seemed to have a noise somewhat like the clutch clatter, but coming from the right side. I don't hear the best, but even my wife kept saying hers was getting noisy. At the end of last season when the people on TY started talking of this I checked the engine with a mechanics stethescope. The raised part on engine on the right side were the chain runs was were the majority of the engine noise was coming from. Mine is the noisyest with 4645 miles, the wifes is noisy , but not as bad with 3916 miles. My dealer is going to take care of us this fall.
