BAD DAY> The oil line on top of my 05 RX-1's oil resevoir came loose on the trail. Didnt notice and ran the engine dry. There is now a major knock. I am searching for a replacement 05 Motor but am not having any luck. I am wondering if I could also substitute an Apex motor using all of my OEM intake/carb/electrical components,, basically just put the motor in and go? (dont have one yet but I'm limited in my search because I am avoiding the 03-04 RX motors) I am in Northern Ontario and also would be interested in finding someone qualified to rebuild my engine??? Help!

The head is all different and I'm not sure you could bolt up the carbs and stuff to a apex engine. I think you can put the RX head on a apex bottom end....I think.

Thanks Kinger, anyone else have any thoughts. Was hoping to get a little more feedback,,,,,,,guess everybody is out riding but me:(

As far as I know you can use the apex engine you will have to check some of the electrical connections for being compatible.
The biggest difference between the two engines (other than efi) is the apex mill has more aggresive cam profile to run higher rpm's so when/if you do this swap you'll have to adjust your carbs and clutching to accomadate the higher revving motor
