We have three different weekends to choose from.
March 12-14th
March 18-21th TY RIDE SET AT THESE DATES
March 26-28th
I will do my very best to make it possible for those living far away to join the ride.
I will have to make a decicion on a date as early as possible so any input on ride dates is much appreciated.

I'm on another ride the weekend before the first you listed there. We have a program I like, but there is some car-driving involved. We should probably only do sled-riding, orelse there will be alot of logistics involved.
We should try to get up with the route asap...

I have a plan that will require the least driving for most people, will be back with the route later. I'm not sure about the ride dates yet, will have to get in sync with my family before I can set the dates.

sounds good to me. Easter really isn't good for me, we're spending it in the fjords, but if we put the ride together out there, I'm all in.
I'll just have to check with work. I'm aiming at getting my girl to join the ride on our turbo...I'll be on the RX...

Hi again
Any progress on this one?
I checked with a friend of mine, who works in Reinpolitiet, and there is no official trail from Gagga to Valjok. Are you planning on a 6000 kr trip?? ;-)
Some of my friends are also interested in joining, and they should be able to join the Saturday/Sunday before Easter (palmehelga).

Sorry with the police on board we will have to behave ourselves hahahaha.
Don't worry the TY Ride route will be on the official trail system, totally legal. My plan was to apply for an exception from the motor law to make it happen, but I've changed my mind about it. To much work involved.
I've had too much to do lately and no time planning. I will go for a late March ride as easter holidays is a no-go for me, family vacation you know.
Dates for the ride will be March 18, 19, 20 and 21 - 2010 - This is the final dates, it's set.

I hear you, buddy. No worries, the police will not join, he is working... Maybe worse ;-)
Okey, if you're going for that weekend I'll have no chance to join. Have to be next time I guess I'll have plenty of time to ride during Easter. But please post your route here, might be I'll take part of your route sometime during Easter.

Sorry but I had to go with what my family wants and they want daddy/husband for themselves at the easter holiday, we have a tradition in our family to gather out in Olderfjord for the easter holidays.
I will post the route on here. I hope the ride will be a success and that you will be able to join in next time around.

March 18-21 it is.
Yes that is what I'm planning for, except for 18th depending on interest, ft you're in here before the 18th we may ride that day as well, just let me know.
I have not made an accurate estimate yet, will do.
Here's my approximation on the ride distances:
Occational riding in the area close to my cabin, thursday afternoon and evening: 160 kms or 100 miles
Roundtrip 1, friday: 300 kms or 190 miles
Roundtrip 2, saturday: 300 kms or 190 miles
Roundtrip 3, sunday: 250 kms or 150 miles
Total of 1010 kms or 630 miles more or less
Our trails are not groomed so this is actually stretching it a bit, we may have to cut down if we get worn out LOL Most of the trails are above tree line in the mountains and on the plains, these trails are fairly good and wide. Trails at lower altitude in the forests are what could be described as rough trails. Some trails are thru wilderness and are not even a trail, only the markers tells us it's a trail, then you know you're on your own riding in those areas. It's an experience for sure, even for me
I'm looking forward to ride with friends and fellow TY'ers come March 2010.

Additional info:
I would recommend riding an Apex or RS type sled because of mileage, it's rather far between fuel stops around here. I can arrange a tow sleigh to bring fuel with us if need be, no problems riding a Nytro then .
From Oslo Gardemoen Airport (OSL) you can fly into Lakselv Airport Banak (LKL) via Tromsø (TOS).
Fly SAS - Scandinavian Airlines System or Norwegian Air Shuttle from (OSL) north to Tromsø (TOS). Fly with Widerøe from Tromsø to Lakselv (LKL) and I'll pick you up there.
If you need help on finding the best possible pricing I'll do my best to help you out. Send a PM to rxrider or an email to rxrider@bluezone.no
