TY Ride Norway 2010, March 18-21. Ride up north at 70N.

I'm inviting members and other Yamaha riders for the first ever TY Ride in Norway. The ride will be in Finnmark, we'll have to work on trail details. Time for the ride would be March while rivers and lakes are still rideable.
Please contact me with suggestions for trails to add to the tour and places to visit. Welcome to the northernmost TY Ride in the world

Dates are set. The dates are 2010 March 18-21.
The ride will take place in Finnmark around the town of Lakselv.

- Lakselv is placed beautifully at the bottom for the third longest fjord of Norway and is about 100 miles or 160 kilometers from the North Cape, the northernmost point of Europe.
- Lakselv is placed right in the middle of Finnmark at 70 deg Northern latitude and 25 deg Eastern longitude.
- Lakselv and the surroundings have about 3000 inhibitants.
- The local airport downtown is a NATO airstrip and is capable of landing the largest planes in the world.
- The airport is operated by the regional airline carrier Widerøe - http://www.wideroe.no

For flying in to Lakselv, arrive in Norway at Oslo Gardemoen Airport, continue up north to Tromsø by either Scandinavian or Norwegian.
From Tromsø fly with Wideroe to Lakselv.

I'm in. Who's doing the planing parts, cause I do not have the time. What I can offer, is an article in the magazine. Just let me know when and where, so I can have a sled ready.

We should try to get this figured out as soon as possible. Shouldn't be too much planning. Let's ride to a 'Fjellstue', have a party there, and ride back the next day.

I will take the chairman position and set a route to ride. I will take into consideration any input I get. I'll set a date asap, thinking mid March, there's two weekends that comes to mind; March 12-14th or March 19-21th. The latter one is the weekend before Easter Holidays starts.

I'm interessted but can only make it during Easter as I leave down south of Norway. My sled is in Karasjok and would gladly join. Any chance it could be the first Easter weekend??

I have a couple of Yamaha friends that would for sure be interessted as well, however not sure how it would suit with your suggested weekends, and none of them leave in Karasjok, they just have their sleds there ;-)

New date suggested, first weekend of easter March 26-28th. We'll see how it turns out. Stay tuned, if most people can make the trip at the first weekend of the easter holiday, that's the weekend I will plan for.

Would you mind checking out with your friends how many of them can join the ride at what weekends?

you're planning a trip overseas Jan-Ove? That's great. Done it a couple of times. Was planning on going again this year, but don't have nough cash flow

Let's get this ride planned.

My Apex Turbo is ready. Did a leakdown test today. Bulletproof. 18 psi for 5000 km's on stock engine rear mount turbo and just a head shim...noooo problems. Wil start building the RX-1 tomorrow
