When replacing the spring, is there anything else that needs to be done to the skid or is it just a simple switch out?
How about the track flip around. Are their any adverse affects caused by the opposite direction of the paddles?

Are you guys noticing excessive snow build-up on the tunnel and running boards ? It seems like the tunnel is warming up from the underseat exhaust and causing a TON of snow to stick and hang around on the sides and floor, and then it freezes, not easy to plant your feet in these situations !

I haven't had much snow build up, but I'm constantly moving my feet from board to board and from front to back.

Same here, can't even imagine any more movement on a sled, honestly felt like I was dancing with it ! Those pics were taken in riding conditions of 4-6 feet of powder too :exc:

I wonder if Excell's full system would help ? Better yet, a ceramic coated one to boot ?!?!?? I know when I took the full exhaust off my 2004 R1 sportbike, and replaced it with a full race Hindle, the heat in the seat of the pants was much less noticeable. I'll be looking into this for sure, can't hurt to ask

Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly are these better boards I'm reading about ?

I would get the Better Boards, I started a new thread about them, just look down the mountain page. F-Bomb did an excellent job designing them, I should mine by the end of the week.

LMAO, That second shot proves Yamaha screwed up on the Nytro layout
JK Trust me I feel your pain riding in that kind of snow. Heated running boards would help with snow removal but you are just piling it on too fast & deep.... Thats a good problem to have
Edit Nitro for Nytro...... It's been a long week

Yeah, ya know I was thinking that myself after I asked, and I know that pretty much every sled out there would accumulate excessive amounts of snow in these areas, but once it froze, it was difficult to remove. No joke, I'm taking a small ice scraper with me next time I plan to ride in conditions like that, cause I had to use a tree branch to help get it out of the footholds ! Anyway, I shouldn't complain, because too much snow is really not a bad thing !

NyTrO,
Shhh small dead blow hammer! (been using one for a while weights about a pound and a half!! For those that are anal about weight... IT IS MUCH LIGHTER THAN THE ICE YOU'RE CARRYING!!! Leaves no marks, and ice brakes up and falls off! From under the tunnel too.

Had another deep snow day today and shredded my first belt. Details in the general Nytro forum.
Few observations on the sled...
- Now that the ski bushings are worn out(1/2" of play in each ski) it doesn't dart nearly as bad. Good and bad side to this.
- Every vent needs to have pre-filter material installed over it. Pulled the plastic off after half the day and there was ALOT of snow inside, pretty much fills up the entire inside.
- My rear suspension I'm afraid is at its end. I think I destroyed it last weekend jumping, because it feels like I'm only riding on the torsion springs. It's dangerous on the trail as it jumps wants to jump from side to side every time it bottoms(which is a lot).
- The oil leaking out when tipped over issue needs to be fixed. Got it stuck on it's right side for about 5 minutes and got oil everywhere which then gets on the brake and makes the brake work about half as good. Seems like a bad design.
