If your getting higher rpm in your mid range try adding a small washer in the middle spot of your clutch weights on the primary to help lower your midrange rpms. That is assuming you have Ulmers kit with extra weights and plugs that comes with the kit.

yep that's my problem high rpm mid range. they are the STM arms Ulmer set them 1washer heel nothing middle 7g big weight tip. 6-3 on wrap was about all I could do to get that sucker on there. super tight. bummer is we have no lake ice here or snow this year so no place to test things. its 4-8 hr drive on Fridays to get to snow and at that point just want to ride it not fiddle around. If your getting higher rpm in your mid range try adding a small washer in the middle spot of your clutch weights on the primary to help lower your midrange rpms. Did Allen set them up or did he tell you were to put the washers. I'm pretty sure that you need to put that heavy washer(tungsten)in the heel and the single washer in the tip that should fix all your problems. The thing is if Allen set them up that way there is a reason maybe he will chime in with some advise.

I honestly cant remember if the arms came weighted up but the sheet that came with it they wrote Heel = 2-0, mid = 0, and tip = T-0...…. I believed that would be tip = T for Tungsten...… but ya thought it a bit weird as other kits add weight at the heelDid Allen set them up or did he tell you were to put the washers. Yep that's right then if that is what the set up sheet said but that seems weird like you said usually the heel has the majority of the weight i would give Allen a call just to make sure. He is usually very close with his set ups with little to no adjustments

seems very responsive and feels much quicker from corner to corner but just cruising along smooth hard pack trail it's like clutches don't shift up much. Lots of RPM just hangs there My old Vector the clutches would shift up and the Rpm would drop right down. that's why I figured back the secondary wrap to 6-1 maybe to get it to open up quicker. Give up a bit of backshift but id be fine with that.Yep that's right then if that is what the set up sheet said but that seems weird like you said usually the heel has the majority of the weight i would give Allen a call just to make sure. Yep same spring I'm using i got 8 washers on the heel, the middle is empty and 6 washers on the tip can't really compare the two tho mine is a turbo with different helix and spring in secondary.

What RPM are you running when cruising? I've got ulmer clutching in my turbo viper with 3 in heel 4 in tip with nothing in the mid. Seems like RPMS are running high in the cruising range 6500-7000 rpms. Mine will get 10-12 MPG depending on the fun flipper. Was wanting to try and lower the rpms in 40-50mph range but haven't had snow to play with it. I'm happy with the rest of it, full throttle it will run 8900 ish. Was running with a 850 doo, stock winder and tuned thunder cat. It would hold its own against them all but the tuned cat would pull away slowly. the others would depend on who got the best jump on takeoff.

I don't have turbo but same here 6500-7200 mid range speeds. Worst MPG was riding slow with wife 15-30 mph got only 12 mpg ..best was running faster with a buddy 35-60 mph I got 14.2mpg surprised it was higher but was cold and trails smooth and hard. In contrast a 16 Viper LTX running heavy hitters I ride with would get just a hair under 17 same conditions and speeds. Our old Vector runs 1200-1500 less rpm at same speeds. I would like to pull the RPM down when just cruising along. Someone mentioned adding weight to the mid hole which I get the theory that is for mid range, but I thought adding weight to the arm will drop over all RPM as well and I think my peak RPM is fine. Hence my idea of less spring wrapWhat RPM are you running when cruising? I've got ulmer clutching in my turbo viper with 3 in heel 4 in tip with nothing in the mid. I was thinking adding some in the mid and taking a little away from the tip to try and keep the WOT rpm where it was happy.I don't have turbo but same here 6500-7200 mid range speeds. I’m running Ulmer’s kit in it with stock secondary spring at 6-1 and a red primary spring. Switching the primary to the OYO I believe should be here tomorrow. We’ll see if we get a chance to ride anymore this year.Ricer68 are you running the clutch kit that came with the turbo with that big hooking purple secondary spring if so try the stock pink one and wind it at 6-1

I tried backing wrap to 6-1 and 6-2 really profound difference in tension between the two. Especially so when trying to twist that sucker with my bad rotator cuff. I'm running it at 6-2 up in "The County" this weekend will report how that works versus the 6-3 Ulmer had suggested. May drop to 6-1 if I have chance.
