- 2016 Phazer.... plus a couple of 2016 Polaris 800's
have a ltx se 137" with 144 studs
Just changed flattened rollers to Cat substitute....
Blew original belt at 280 miles - it was broke in correctly
Stock spring setting on secondary is 3-3
From what I understand changing spring to 6-1 will give better belt grip and suggested when studded.
Is this correct?

Not saying the 6-1 is not better or worse.. Saying guys should also be checking clutch offset and secondary spring bind.. I had no shim behind secondaryhave a ltx se 137" with 144 studs

The shim I refer to is on the jackshaft behind secondary. Used to align for clutch offset.

That's disappointing that they forgot the shim. Not saying the 6-1 is not better or worse.. Saying guys should also be checking clutch offset and secondary spring bind.. I had no shim behind secondary

The secondary floats so shim won't do anything anyway.

So why set offset? Why would it be in the book. I respectfully disagree buyriteThe secondary floats so shim won't do anything anyway.

The shim is absolutely needed. You are correct. I've seen this happen before. So why set offset? Why would it be in the book. I respectfully disagree buyrite
