Shim behind Secondary needed with float

Hi Guys

Heres another question. When using a secondary float/belt removal tool do you need the shim that is behind the secondary or remove it to allow more float?

leave it there. It keeps the secondary from sitting against the spring clip holding the bearing. the secondary will still float just fine.

 

[yamaha06]

Leave it in there. The shims behind the secondary ensue it's properly aligned with the primary.
