I have a 2007 phazer standard with the throw away shocks. I would like to replace them with the Walker Evans setup from an IQ. Does anyone know the length of all four shocks or if this setup will fit my phazer?

I am also making my own tunnel closure kit. Should i close the front opening as well? Or just the back? I am also looking for suggestion of skis and exhaust. The sled doesnt handle well and everyone seems to blame the factory skis. I am leaning towards the Aaen exhaust but must know if it is trail legal and what else is needed to run this exhaust system.

Well I think thats all I need (for now). Any input is appreciated

center shock is 13"
rear shock 17 1/2"
fronts 17"? not positive.
i have both holes closed with no problems. exhaust, i just have a moto slip-on (loud) & haven't been stopped. i am going to copy Ruckus' idea to quiet mine down some.
skis are horse a piece, any will help. c&a, slydog, pilot'sare a few i heard

i borrowed simmons from a friend of mine. my stock skis with stud boy deuce bars didnt dart at all, the simmons darted a little but... the sled actually turns when u turn the handle bars but... they bite soo much u cant lean enough to stop ski lift

I only closed the rear opening on my tunnel, it stopped all the ice build up.

I have the skinz ultra q and I wouldn't want it any louder and this is suppose to be one of the quieter exhaust. It definatly makes more power. I've heard the Aaen is One of the louder exhaust but also makes the most power. Front shocks need to be in the 15.5 to 16.0 range for length. I've been looking but really haven't found and other sleds that have front shocks that are close. For the rear the skidoo sc3 skid shocks are very close.

Heat

Before you make yourself a homegrown closer kit you may want to buy the Yamaha kit , if your sled seat area catches on fire or melts down you may be left out in the cold.

The Yamaha kit has special heat wrapped parts to block the heat when you close the hole.

I have walker evans(off an 08 dragon rmk) in my rear skid they are a little short but they will work with a bushing modification. They lower your ride height which helps handling. The fronts are a different story, Most all walker evans or newer shocks for that matter, are 17-18.5 center to center. The phazer is 15 inches, 16 inch like off an apex work (my friend did this) but 17+ is just too much from what all the shock guys have said to me and on these sites. That's why I'm still running my front stock shocks.
Close off the rear hole on your phazer don't worry about the front.
USI SPX are my ski of choice, good overall ski.
Schmidt bros single exhaust is excellent.

I have a set of shocks for sale here

Closure Kit- I priced the Yamaha kit but did not get a good idea of what it all includes. Does it close both openings?

Exhaust- I want an exhaust that is lighter, has proven performance enhancement (dyno charts) and does not require air box mods. I am leary to open my air box to the atmosphere due to the risk of injesting impurities. Plus I already welded the stock exhaust back together once within the first 2000 miles.

Shocks- I would love Ohlins but dont want to pay that much. I would be open to installing Fox Floats in the rear suspension but I want to stick with coil overs in the front. Plus I am on budget, so I am buying used, and would like to the entire suspension for $500ish?

That might be a lil unrealistic but with all the other mods I'd like to do before next winter I may have to tap into my motocross funds.
