OK so I have put 800 kms on my new 09 SE and today I took a look my secondary clutch to find this

Fracture cracks after 800 kms. I haven't noticed any burning belt smells, haven't notice any belt slippage. The sled has ran great since i got it.

Mine's full of them too. No worries.

I take mine in and have them balanced, you'd be surprised how far off they are from factory balancing. Makes a difference if you plan on keeping the sled for awhile.

Most of Yamahas clutch castings look...well, not very high quality...I have also watched the progress in my brand new 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2009 models. In my opinion, it gets worse every year. This year people are even having problems reading the index numbers on the secondary clutch...Time to do something about the tools, Yamaha...?

How do you do that?

I take my clutches to Anchorage Drag Bike; this is a high end machine shop here in Alaska. I would imagine if you have a quality machine shop in your area they should have a balancing machine. If they haven't done snowmachine clutches before they with probably have to make up a jig to do so for the first time. Anyway, the charge up here is $50.00 per clutch.
