Should i buy a Sidewinder?

I'm looking to buy a new sled. I currently ride a Cat XF8000. I'm looking at Spring checking a new Doo Turbo or an XC850. However i just found a deal on a new 18 Sidewinder that is the same price. My biggest concern is with the weight of the sled. I trail ride 99% of the time, so off trail isnt really an issue. Its more of muscleing the machine around on the trails and trailer. Is the weight that noticeable while riding? What has the resale been like on these units? Any durability issues? Just looking for some input on these as a straight up trail machine. Thanks

No thought, sidewinder, rides great and more power, motor great. I have a ZR no problems, If you leave it alone stock you will have no problems , The sled doesn't feel heavy at all , it has a electric feel, quiet ,four stroke way smoother at cruising, resale don't know they just came out in 17

I would leave it stock. I like the feel and seating position on my current Cat, so this would be the same. Yamaha has some pretty aggresive pricing and 0% finanicng. I'm looking at a LTX- DX, not sure if the shock offering it that good on that model?

Do you trailer to ride, like I have to do?
Yes it has some weight to it when compared to ALL 2 smokes , but not noticeable until certain times like very small trails, or coming in to corners !!
I have been on 4 strokes since 2003, so I expect that front end weight, which is where it will be noticeable. Have never had a motor problem with any of my 4 strokes. Cannot say that about my past 2 smokes. Still parting out the last 2 strokes that we blew. (My wife's sled an another I had not much invested in, Thank God.)

I run nothing but big trails and would have nothing but because it is the most powerful stock sled on the market, PERIOD.
I guess you have to ask yourself what you want in a sled and know what model will suit you. LE for me.

"Straight Up Trail Machine" Damn fast for stock. Very stable sled with not much ski lift.

There are about 10 friends that i ride with and 4 of them are 2 stroke riders. They all rode mine this winter and all love it!! They said it rides way better and the power was amazing compared to any of there sleds and 2 of them are buying sidewinders this year and the other 2 want to but dont want to spend the money!! Just last week i let a buddies wife ride mine and she said it's way better than her 600 DOO and told him that he is getting her one!! LOL With the left over deals maybe all of them will buy one!!
When i was riding there sleds i hated it couldnt wait to get back on mine.

The speedo on the SW is very accurate. Within 2-3 MPH of GPS. I don't believe the Sidewinder is much lighter than an attak, but it has 50 more HP to help move the weight. I rode both sleds back to back for hundred of miles a few weeks ago. I would take the SW over an Apex or attak any day. The handling, seating position, power, and fuel economy was better on the SW.

LMAO!! I love it! After initial adjustments, it handles and takes bumps great! Really great all around sled. Decent mileage too.
And yes, it can break trail...just not in 40 fresh inches. But neither could a super wide track Skandic either.

I live in Bangor, but have a camp on Cross Lake near Fort Kent. I keep my sleds at camp, so i dont have to trailer but twice a year. I just bought a phazer for my oldest son and my wife has an ACE900 so i'm used to the 4 stroke goodness. I dont need the fastest machine, but want at least 800 / 850 class power with minimal weight to have to wrestle around. I was considering the new Ace Turbo, but I'm affarid it might not be quite enough. For the same price and can land a Sidewinder. Seems like its the way to go.
