Sidewinder Operating Temp

What no GPS speeds yet lol? Do you have the STMs in?
Ive been so pre-occupied with everything just getting up here ect, that the bigscreen Garmin is still in truck....so finally today I swapped my 5" garmin into my truck and popped on the 7" to the sled, I had already done all the mounting of the holder back in fall. So tomorrow and from now on GPS is on sled, so pics will follow with all my speeds.

Im interested to see how accurate the speedo is around 100mph.

Bone stock still till get couple hundred on her. Only got 1 hour of ripping on it so far.lol

The strip is plowed on my lake so when I get home from work on the 8th I'll be running the strip for 2 days then it's off to Cochrane for a weeks rippin!

has anyone tested the anti freeze...many times these sleds come with straight coolant which doesnt cool as well?

Tested my coolant and it was 60/40 mixture antifreeze / water. I will be siphoning some out and running a 50/50 mixture and adding water wetter. Will also be running ice scratchers on the skis as the trails were so hard pack at times last year I was running hot and going into limp mode quite often if I couldn't find snow to cool off.

I'm interested in this or doing something to dilute and enhance cooling

Whats everyone seeing for operating temps? Anyone know what thermostat is in these sleds?
I see 168 to 186 regularly... Over the past 2 days in Northern Wisconsin, I went into limp mode 7 times (over 210) and had to shut her down a few times when I couldn't find snow to kick up.

Was having the same issue with mine last year when the trails were hard packed with no snow to kick up for cooling. Hoping this year will be different with the water wetter and coolant diluted to 50/50, also have ice scratchers just incase.

Yup I’m running 74-80 celcius aprox. Don’t let idle to long I’ve learnt that very quickly
Can you tell me how to change the display to celcius instead of farenhiet

168f to 186f, seen the light blink just above 205f at low speed only (with my daughter, had to get her up and speed and give her a few spins to cool down, to my surprise the 3 year old just giggled). Never went and to limp mode yet. But the conditions next week will not be good I imagine. Heavy melt then a cold front, I would think our trail system will turn to ice. I guess I'll finally have to install scratchers on there.

165 to 172 consistently. Had to ride roads to connect a trail last week and it went into limp mode a little over 200 degrees. 2nd time in limp mode, and nice that the sled still moves. Doesn't hurt anything...cars and trucks run that normally. Full pressure oiling means no 2 stroke worries! lol

Added water wetter to the mix last year. Normal trail running is 168 to 172. Only gets hot when idling, just a couple of minutes at idle and it will be up around 200 and climbing.
