Hey all,
I have my skid plate fully installed, with the exception of two places. There are two holes in the skid plate where it meets the tunnel and heat exchanger that do not line up at all. I am talking like at least an inch away. Did anyone else have this issue? Can I drill into it? The screws that are provided are just screws, not threaded, not self-tapping.

Mine didnt lineup either and I didnt put anything in there. There is plenty of fasteners to hold it in place- you can cut the access panel out so you dont have to drop the whole skid plate to change the oil.

hmm. so just skip those?
If you cut an area out for the access panel, did you just leave it open with the metal plate still there, or did you rig something up to make it removable?

Yes i skipped them on mine- they weren't even close. I havent cut an access panel yet but after removing it 3x already, I will be cutting it. I have a heavy duty access panel and was going to just leave the plastic skid plate openhmm. so just skip those?

I drilled new holes since I worried about plate getting hung up in reverse. Just be careful you don't stick exchanger with drill.

Glad his was brought up, I was debating on leaving it as-is or drilling pilot hole for the screws. I'm going to install the screws, after sitting all summer my pan is sagging there and has a pretty good gap.
