Snow Free Intercooler Guard...New Design In Stock...see page 5

When will these be on your website and ready for purchase? Black please.

I have a handful of black ones at the powdercoater ready to pick up. Hoping to get them today. I need to glue the frogzskin on then rivet the backing grid on. I wasn't entirely confident in relying on just the adhesive to hold the mesh, so I 've decided to rivet a backing grid on the back side so the mesh is sandwiched. In the event that someone tears the mesh it will be pretty simple to replace it.

I will post up pics as soon as I get one assembled.

If you install the factory nose back on it will Be worse than factory the snow will never go through the frogskin. The factory nose has a shelf let’s say that the snow sits on and it plugs up.
What about the factory nose cone going back on?

The whole point of removing the the factory nose cone is to prevent snow build up. The nose cone does have a shelf or ledge as dieselxtx stated on the bottom that snow accumulates on. I would have to agree that using my guard in conjunction with the stock nose cone would be worse than the stock set up.

My guard is designed so snow hits its and just drop straight down rather than accumulate. There's no ledge to catch it. The lower skid plate is also included with the grill. This is needed since the stock nose cone is not being used. Perhap's some of you didn't realize the lower skid plate was also included and that's why you want to utilize the stock nose cone as well?

With the grill now having a backing plate the total thickness of the grill is .200. It's quite rigid and will take some abuse! Below are some pictures of a final assembly in black.

Total weigh??
Im worried about loosing lower protection for the cooler if you where to hit a tree stump, etc.

Both pieces combined weigh 1lb 6 oz. I weighed the oem plastic nose cone and grill components and it weights 2 lbs 8 oz.

If you hit a short stump the bottom of the nose cone is going to glide the sled up over the stump. The lower portion of my guard will serve the same purpose as the bottom of the factory nose cone. It too will glide the sled up over the stump. The plastic nose cones really are not much of a structural piece...more cosmetic function than anything.

That looks so much BETTER in black. I can see what you mean now.

When will it be ready to ship?

The one I assembled last week I glued the mesh and then riveted the backing plate on. Today I want to assemble one with no glue and see how it holds out. If one would tear or pucture some mesh the backing plate could could be removed so new mesh could be installed. I'm thinking no glue would make mesh replacement easier.

Once I have decided which route I'm going I will assemble a few and offer them up to guys in the thread that expressed interest before I put them up in the store.

1 pound 2 ounces off the front end. It's a start! LOL

I have 10 things i'm going to watch &/or tweak on my sled in January as it stands now. Snow build up is #8 on the list. I may be calling 1-24-18. Be ready 'cuz i like to chat....
