Snow Free Intercooler Guard...New Design In Stock...see page 5

Never had any issues with the Cat guard. Seems like this will block flow. Any IAT testing been done? Is the fan for mountain riders? Can’t see needing it for trail.

Mine is all done and I did the same thing I saw another user do.

The only difference is i reused the plastic screen and put it behind the frogskin. This way if an ice marble or stick finds the frogskin.....the plastic should help keep that from hitting the cooler. 2 zip ties to put that piece back in...looks awesome and still protected.

Getting a batch of raw ones later today. Getting a few done in orange for a few customers. If anyone is interested in one of these in a color other than black contact me. I will be headed to powdercoater saturday.

Real world testing on the snow free intercooler guard.

Was in Upper Michigan this past weekend. More than enough snow to try this out.

As you can see, the snow falls right off. No ice whatsoever. The other sidewinders that were in deep snow had blocks of ice.

Hello...I am interested in an orange one...Thx

Got quite a few of these out there now. Any more feedback on how they are working out? Positive or negative I'd be interested to hear it.

Almost all of my testing was trail testing and am curious how they are working out for the deep snow mtx & btx guys.

Are these beneficial/necessary if you are trail riding as well or is the snow build up more or an issue if you are deep snow riding?

Have u considered something sexier? I know aesthetics are subjective. You could put either vertical or horizontal breaks in the design, say 20 degrees or water jet/laser the tuning fork emblem in, a sled doing a wheelie? u get the idea. I fully get all go no show, but sex sells too:)

From feedback I've gathered over last season many people were apprehensive of removing the stock nose cone. Some even modified the nose cone to make it fit. Due to this I've decided to design a new guard that will work with the stock nose cone. I will utillize frogzskin for anti stick again. The design also eliminates the shelf for snow to accumulate on. Below are some pics of preliminary concept.

The nose cone will need to be trimmed on back side. This picture below shows what you need to cut off. It gets trimmed right along the lip so there is a nice straight line to guide the cut. I would detail the trimming in updated install instructions. Trimming this back portion off also provides the needed clearance to tilt the intercooler front for my radiator and fan to fit.

One other nice feature of my new design is that I'm going to utilize off the shelf frog skinz vents that have adhesive on the backside. This will allow for easy replacement if someone would tear one.

Hi,

How are the Intercooler guards coming along?

Here's a photo of the latest design. I will powder coat the frame black and then place the vents on the front. By placing them on the front, the guard will have no lips or ledges to hold any snow. Hope to get one mounted up today and will post some pictures.

Never stop improving all great ideas but this last one is really sweet and simple
