snowgoer said they liked the monoshock in Wisconsin (good for me). When the got it out west it bottomed hard on the big whoops/bumps and they couldnt adjust the RA any firmer.

APEX ER on order/still debating over a Attack, they said it handled the trail better

Must have been a full moon out west, now that is stupid, hmm ya think they missed the shock wrench in the tool box. The RA valve is just that if they were hittin bottom they should have turned the spring not the RA valve.

What issue is this in i got to read this, i thought them people were smarter than that.

yea I saw it.
Why is it that they are the only mag to slam the monoshock?????

Anyway I am still getting my ATTAK on Monday :D

I let my snogoer subscription run out anyway..

Oh Shaf, It just came out along with my renu notice

Something dosen't add up here. Three mags last spring couln't rave enough about the Apex line and the monoshock. Now in Snogoer it rates fourth I've been told. Not only that, in one article they rate the Attack 4th in crossover and in another article they claim it to be #1. Who's paying who here. I bought my sled based on demo rides you TY riders did, and the info I learned here. Seeing them at the show didn't hurt any. Some mags info you gotta take with a grain of salt.

If the magazines can rate the sleds - then we should be able to rate the magazines. Personally while snowgoer used to be a good magazine - it is a rag now and I rate it dead last! Snowgoer has always been influenced by the manf and will say whatever it takes to get advertizing. By mid season the magaizine is only a few pages thick and talks mostly about travel guides. If you want a technical magizine, I think snow tech is the most objective magazine and tells it like it is.

I couldn't agree more. Look at Snowgoer's Snowmobile of the Year award. It's revolving door every four years. It's pathetic. I quit reading that garbage many years ago. How much you wanna bet the GT or the Attak is Sled of the Year this year even with a "4th place suspension".

weren't they also the ones that rated the polaris XC best of class in 2001 and then in 2002 said it was junk and got a last place award? (and it was the same exact sled), they said the suspension seemed dated yet it was best of class the year before?

The skid was broken in from all of the demo-rides, either that, or they saved the yamaha for the 400lb test rider.

I read the article this morning and couldn't believe it. If you read their "misses" the only legit complaint is the fit and finish of the handle bar area. I am not crazy about no cover/pad, but that was the rugged look they were after. It was not a mistake or oversight in their design. Anyway, it just seams snogoer is biased and even when they say good things about Yammi, it is like they are looking down their noses at it. I don't pay any attention to snogoer.

snotech=snowmobilers who occassionally write a magazine. snogoer=magazine writers who occassionally ride a snowmobile.thats how i see it, and have for years!

I personally think they did an excellent job of covering hoses, wires, etc. in the handlebar area. It looks ten times better than an Arctic Cat who just has crap hanging everywhere. There is a pad on the production sleds and a rep at the show said you can still buy the full cover like previous models if you aren't into the racer look.

On a side note...yamahey is your avatar a picture of Lake Vermillion?? I ride up there alot. I see you're from Tower that's why I ask.

2blue4u,

Yes, it is looking across big bay towards bayview lodge. I hava a cabin on Ely Island and do most of my riding in the area. By the way, I wasn't saying they did a bad job, just that I like the covered look better. Snowgoer trashed it, and while I think they were wrong, I admit I personally don't care for the racer look myself. I like the covered finished look better.

AMEN.... ;)!

Snowtech does not write about anything that they have no experience with. They wait, investigate, test then write......just like Yamaha!!
:yam: The way it should be.

I used to get Snowgoer in the mail. It has really gone down hill. The only mag I buy is SnowTech. They are the only mag that tells it like it is. They don't make up stiff to fill up the mag. They write up good informed articles with facts behind them. I have had the chance to ride an 2005 RX-1 with the Mono. I loved it. Its rides like a cadillac.
