Im repairing my vipers chain case bearings and would like to know have you guys bought or made your own spanner socket for the top bearing retainer? It’s the lock ring with 4 notches on it to tighten the bearing, plus it cannot be just hammered on as the torque is 35 lbs. So a socket with tabs are required to hold it tightly

That's awesome. I wish I had those skills. If there is one to buy, I would get it then if my crowd in Manitoba needed it, I would have one.

Pick up a harbor freight flux core welder for 89 bucks on sale and practice making stuff! I'm not a welder by trade but I have 2 more suspensions to weld..apex and nytro, and never had any previous ones break after welding with a 110 volt cheapy....it's not too hard..Not pro, but kinda fun! That's awesome. Update to the socket tool! Just in case, I fudged up, the socket has to be like at least 5" long to fit over the shaft! My bad, that's what experimenting is about. Just cut the 1/2" end drive off and added pipe welded back together worked like a charm.
