Specs (20kg less weight than Nytro etc)

I doubt there will be 15 pounds difference dry or wet. The people that are expecting more are dreamers.

Not that I really care, but this seld will have to be heavier than the Cat 1100 N/A model...an extra cylinder adds weight...no getting around it.

Personally I don't care what the weight is...I am a 100% trail rider and find my current Nytro RTX fine for what I do. Regardless I don't know why sled manu's don't measure wet weight....dry weight means nothing, it's just a publishing gimmick...you gotta add fluids before you ride or you won't get far.

not really, the 1100 twin has a big #*$&@ counter weight in it to smooth it out along with bigger rods and such. I'd bet both engines are within 5# of each other with the possibility of the Nytro engine being the lighter one.

I'm curious about the weight as well.

I have to say, just a week ago I was saying that I never wanted to buy another first year sled again, but the Viper has me tempted. It could be an awesome sled indeed.

i was thinking the same thing

Not really first year, motor 8years old , chassis at least a couple years old , your good to go. LOL

Dry weight tells you what the actual chassis weighs, very useful. Wet weight is the ready to ride weight, also very useful.

Bottom line, 4 strokes are heavy but this new one will be lighter.

hi guys, i was just down to my local dealer, he says he just got back from testing them down in the states somewhere , he says the viper weighs 80 lbs less than the nytro dry weight, and about 40 lbs wet, because of the larger tank, i don't see this as being any where near accurate, but i figured id throw in his 2 cents,, he did say also that it was tuned a little better for a few more horsepower, he didn't know how many, and said it was a rocket off the line compared to the nytro, but the nytro should be faster topped out because of the clutching...... don't flame me i know how in accurate his stats may be, but i figured i would relay them... i have a xtx myself, i know if they can drop off 40 pounds and offer a real gas tank along with some tunnel for storage, its definitely 3 steps in the right direction,, even if it is half cat..lol

Your dealer is a liar! 80lbs dry, REALLLY????

I found out today that the genesis (nytro) motor weighs 35 lbs less than the 1100t. there's a few lbs weight loss from last years procross chassis just in the engine alone. how much does a 270 mcx turbo kit weigh right now, 30-35lbs?
anyways I dont really think chassis should have to be judged by its weight but should be judged by how it carries that weight... and the cat carries the weight SOOOO much better than the nytro in stock form.

That makes sense, Yamaha said all along that a twin was heavier than the tripple due to the balance shafts needed. The two, turbo 1100 proclimbs I've ridden this season hid there weight much better than either the Nytro or DB chassis.
