Yes he is!
But really, I met with him at Haydays and I walked away a believer in his skis. We were even talking about when they'd be available for the Apex chassis, which he said were in the plans. I have since learned Split Rail probably won't be offering these for the Apex sled now. Bums me out because I'd love to try them out. They are great skis that work, there is plenty of testimonials and video evidence of them in action.
I know Mike I talked to him at the Novi show. Great guy and met one son who is really cool also. I just think the nytro needs just a real little bit more help then split rails IMHO. I will end up with these sooner or later.

I'm surprised by how narrow each of the skis are. They remind me of cross country skis. I've never tried or even seen a set in person but I'm very skeptical. I don't like how Simmons Flex skis work on the trail, same with deuce bars. The darting is reduced at the expense of cornering precision.
I don't see how these skis would work in deep snow. I think they would be terrible in the heavy, wet snow we get. That open center would let the snow come on up through the center. Of course if they are not marketed for deep snow than no worries. They just don't look very versatile. I also wonder how well they work when going in reverse?

Surprisingly, no snow flies up the centre...they bite very hard for having shallow keels, and are not hard to steer...very nice ski for the Nytro
Plus they don't make them for 08, and that's the model that could use them the most.

X2.
Again, I was very close to trying a set.
The sales pitch was spot on at the show.
I'm not skeptical, I do feel the split skis are a step up for trail riding.
But yes, there is more going on with the nytro and skis alone won't fix. I'm keeping my mind open and waiting.
Just trying to wrap my wallet around the price tag.
With the $$ I've invested in other skis already and all the other tricks I've done. I'm quite happy with the way my nytro works now.
Split rails weren't an option back in 2009-10.
When everyone is using them... I will be too.

I'd probably try them if one of my spindles failed.

Put on my set and rode last weekend..... Best mod i have put on. Great bite in corners, and steering effort is much easier. Money well spent imo.
