Stage 6 build

Installed some MOFLO vents to get the header heat out. Very happy it's amazing how much heat it allows to escape.

My best is 10.97 at 100 mph letting off too early with the gap large turbo and stage 6 cams.

What gearing are you running ?
Up to this point 1.64 ratio 25-41. Just switched to 1.68 22-37. I also want to try 1.54 24-37 and 1.58 24-38. Just a pain to change gears in this chassis.

The winder loves big gears. I run 1.54 and if running a mile or more on good hardware ..... the mighty SRX flies......but man ....... sure is hard to keep a belt intact!!

FWIW - I've run 1.68 and 1.81 with my Razorback IR belt temp gage. On my setup, I can tell you the higher ratio definitely heats up the belt more. Like about 15-20 degF. To me, that's something to keep in mind when running tall gears. Depends on how far one is going to pull it. Also, for the fast trail riding I do, by marking clutch, I can say the primary doesn't get shifted up all the way very much. Have to pull it quite a ways for the last of the mark to be wiped off.

That's allot of gear! and running a mile or more is hardcore! :) the 998 does seem to like gear in a radar/ice application

sooo STAGE 6 was in quebec this weekend at -30 temps and sled ran great till had some issues that i posted with battery and volt regulator, anyway the set up with medium bolt and 4 washers with +1 size roller and clickers on 4 on the TAPP with 46/36 helix and green sno pro in middle hole would come out at 8700 and pull up to 8850, seams to pull really hard and has good back shift when really cold temps, but was out yesterday at -2 and feels a little sluggish even thou i was at 8700-8800, i think it needs to come out at 8800 and go to 9000. has anyone else goty a great set up i can try back to back and compare ... ill go test on lake and give my feed back, i could just wind the sec to 4th hole but think thats alot of force on belt..... PS got great fuel economy too

Gearing is subjective.... just like drag racing... you gear for the given distance you are running... theoredically ... for best accelereation in a given distance.... YOU ONlY WANT TO HIT 1:1, ... as clutchs go into overdrive you loose efficientcy. if you are radar running for say 2000 ' which should be plenty to get to top speed.... gear soo you hit that 1:1 speed right at the 2000 foot mark.... but this will be such a tall gear it wont be good for trail riding aswell. cake and eat it too...
