Starter amps

Re: My apologies

My apologies for not posting why I wanted the information. I was looking for the smallest wire I could use for jumper cables. If I used the amount of amperage and then used the appropriate sized wire for 30 seconds without melting the sheath I figured I could make a small set of jumpers. I was going to do a little math and all I needed was the draw amps. I certainly didn't mean to cause any problems. Thanks for the info.

Hey you know what you and Yammerhead may want to do?

Get the Yamaha jumper cables! Part # ACC-CHGJR-BT-12 $14.95

The kind of wire you are going to get at Home Depot will be like trying to unwind a brick in cold weather. And clamps that you buy too, you dont want them to have clamps that are for round terminals, they wont stay on worth a crap.

Custom made jumper cables made out of the smaller welding cable one can buy with soldered on clamps would be what I would do. Make them to a 4 ft length is all one would need to reduce bulk and weight.
