That is why you use a stock modded...Dan, here in Quebec those non stock mufflers are illegal and they check a lot. Get caught, big fine!
Heck we rode there an noone cared about anything, I was all worried too.....loved Mont Valin!

Nope, not for me, seen too many guys get caught... plus the stock winder is an absolute blast!
Yeah, Mont-Valin is one of many great spots to ride especially late spring
Let me know if you plan on coming back

A stock modded can NOT be caught, that is why its so stealth and what I wanted.
It has the stock shields on it with compliant stamps, it SOUNDS so close to stock it could never NOT pass a DB test, so how could that be detected? It cant.

Hypersports offered to upgrade very reasonably if I decided to add a muffler.

I think most of the tuners will do this. I just would suggest asking prior, just to know ahead of time.Hypersports offered to upgrade very reasonably if I decided to add a muffler.
I know not everyone needs a ton more HP, but I sure think once you get the bug....the flasher is best route, as you have so many more options just for a few hundred more.

RPMS was 8500-8700 now 8900-9000, hit rev limiter once when jumping. What were your RPMS before running that flash, and what was your secondary set at 60 or 70?
What kind of top mph were you getting before and after flash?
Mileage difference?
Secondary set at 60.
Top speed not tested (I have a BTX and i think gearing is to low for testing top speed)
No mileage difference.

Thanks dem1000, sounds like a 300-400 rpm increase, but Dave also raised the sweet spot to 8800. Very nice flash and concept.

My 100% bone stock sled turned 9000 RPM with secondary at 60* after being broke in and needed some weight added. So adding a flash may require some added weight to the clutch if you have a good running high reving stocker.
They make peak power at 8800 on a stocker too.

Oh, I thought the stock sweet spot was at 8750.
Mine went through periods. Tried to break it in by the book, but once over 500 miles it was spot on one day, then other days it lost rpms, some times 8400 other times 8600, other times right at 8750 out of hole then drop off.
But I was also having gas mileage problems. Had stopped in to my dealer to buy parts and talked to him about rpms and bad gas mileage, and he said something was not right so I should plan to drop it off sometime, But for those with low rpms he had a powerup kit that worked nice and brought it up to 8800-8900 without any clutch work.
So I did drop it off and he did find fuel pressure problem and he adjusted the secondary offset. That was at the end of season and with only 2 short rides after, I found it to be spot on again AND sure enough for the first time I got 15 mpg staying out of the throttle.
So not 100% sure about where the rpms will be if I keep it stock for a while longer, but for sure I would rather be 200 over with 225 then 200 under stock. I think the 250ish with stock mod is for me and my set up.

8750-8800 close enough.
Mine seemed to pull 88 and climb almost instant to 89-9000 RPM all the time. Never messed with it knowing its getting a "tuneup" and muffler soon enough. Just was real impressed the way it ran for a bone stocker.

250 ish with Stock mod muffler sounds great to me. Not sure the effect of the 1.6 track on mine but my rpms were ~8600 and my top speed was 106mph GPS. Secondary wrapped to 70 didn’t seem to change much. I wasn’t planning to worry much about it until I got to 1000 Miles.

Yeah I had an FPP set up that was rated for 250 -275, I had it at the close to the upper end at over 11 lbs of boost and it was a bit much for trails when running good. I decided that a bit less then that is all I need for my trail riding style.
It was worrisome for me when others tried it, like my daughter. She also has a speed bug that will probably stay with her for ever thanks to me and the sleds I provided her with. Even worried when others tried it because I know the highly studded track is a week point for sustained high speed runs.

At the end of the season I put a little more weight in the middle of the clutch arm, and it got a bit better. This season i am going to run 270-280 and thunder products clutch kit.

I have the same rpm issues with mine and fuel mileage is bad. All stock.
What was the fix before modding your sled.
