Has anyone modified the stock muffler with 2.5" internals? I have the EVO bullet and sounds killer but am expecting to get stopped by DNR and want to possibly do a quick mod to my stock one to have in truck just in case. Anyone got a pict of it opened up? Just curious. Thanks!

Thanks, I'll cut it open tonight and take some pictures. I'll see what I can figure out.

I took my stock muffler and made it into a 3" inlet/outlet. Its quiet and has a deep rumble to it.

No but, had mine done in the beginning of the 2018 season. They kept the incoming all (2”) and put a 3” center and outlet in it.
Was warned about that 3” outlet prior to going upcountry to ride. Wardens measuring, so I brought it back and they came up with an idea. Cut an inch of outlet pipe off and then welded a 3/2” reducer bought from auto parts.
Looks 100% stock, sounds deeper then stock and just a touch louder. Best thing though, it had a drone at under 4K with the 3” outlet.
Now no more drone and power seems great.
Looking up through exhaust when I had it off for maintenance this year, and it looks like a 3” internal tube with some kind of mesh 2/3 of the way up!!

Would love to see the pics of what you do. Time for a photo-documentary as I'm now leaning toward TD's Stock Mod Muffler being the ultimate for oil guys like me who don't want a lot of noise.

I'm not sure how much you'd gain by leaving the stock 2" turbo outlet, that's a very restrictive diameter given how these things like to breath. There's a noticeable difference in power from a 2.5" SuperQuiet to 3" Sandale - I had to add almost 2g to my weights if I remember right. No but, had mine done in the beginning of the 2018 season. Well before they started flashing the 2017 Winder, this mod was being added to stock Winders in our area, along with some clutch work. They were claiming more mph and more hp for a pretty cheap price. They were running these against stock Winders with good results. Then the flashes came out and this smm was added to his offered packages along with machined clutches. I bit !!!
Either way, I like it. But, Hard telling not Knowing huh!
I realize that you are very correct in what you are saying about restriction.

The stock muffler is a mess of tubes of varying diameters, and 3 resonating chambers. I am buying a stock modified from Ulmer LOL. It's a Sandale piece and has a new inlet and outlet, not sure what they did in the middle. I should have it tomorrow.

How much is the stock modified going to set you back as far as price? If you don’t mind me asking. I don’t know if I want to buy one or spend a full day modding my own (and not knowing how well it will work until there’s snow on the ground.)
