It's not speed, it's more RPM's. Below 5000 there is not much difference. 6000 up is where it happens. At 7000 it becomes RELIGIOUS!
Clutching can be altered to get more from the 10 to 30 mph pulls.
Even in small trails you can keep the motor right in the "pocket" with the throttle. Stay off the brakes OR feather the brakes without letting off throttle. Then the motor is ready to pounce.

I also am a trail rider so my sidewinder xtx is not set up for 1/8th mile lake racing from dead start. i have 1800 miles this year on TD MAX16, turbo smart BOV, CAI and Thunder Products clutching. ran all season on same XS825 belt and it still looks new. no studs but on hard groomed trails my 1.6 Cobra hooks up just fine. this tune is very smooth at normal trail speed, 30 to 65 MPH, once the rpm's get in the mid 6k the motor turns into an animal!! it accelerates HARD.... fuel MPG is 14 to 16 depending on snow conditions, it is a noticeable improvement from stock. compairing to other brands, Doo 850 and Poo 850 they are only competitive for about 200 feet. so if we were doing a power compairson around the yard it would be pretty equal anything more than that is bring a knife to a gun fight. i put on 1400 miles this year in Northern Maine in 2 rides and the MAX16 is great for those trails, i rode in 400 miles in Old Forge NY where the trails are a lot more twisty and Max16 still worked very good because to be safe you just cant grab a hand full out of each turn. there is way too much traffic to be aggressive with a tuned Sidewinder there. to ride hard from corner to corner on twisty trails Max16 is a handful. it is hard to hold on after a few miles of of pounding on twisty trails unless you are a pro supercross rider. even then you are going way too fast and its only a matter of time before you put it in the trees and be lucky to not get killed. So overall this year i am very happy with my choice of tune, it ran GREAT on all conditions, i would do MAx16 again in a second. the best bang for the buck i think i ever spent on a snowmobile and over many years i pissed a lot of money away on snow toys. The tuned Sidewinder has to be respected even more so on tight twisty trails unless you are the only one out riding, there is always someone coming the other direction and these sleds tend to be always going faster than you realize

I was never going to go beyond that tune because i wont change the muffler, i really like the quiet stock noise level and besides to ride in Maine the muffler has to be stock. the wardens are slick up there, i seen one tape measure the the exhaust muffler outlet and he knew 3 inches was not stock and wrote the guy up.Are you running a 3 bar with that tune?

Yep I was told the same BUT, I wanted the 3 bar sensor so that I could see the accurate boost numbers.
Turns out that you cannot add a 3 bar to that older 2 bar Max Spool 16 tune.
This years Max Spool 16 tune requires a 3 bar and it makes a bit more power I was told (Dealer).
I did get the updated tune and added the 3 bar. Kept the same primary weights and went from 6/2 to 6/1 on secondary wrap and still picked up 100 - 150 more rpm. Both tunes also had the BOV. Just an FYI.

Do u see much difference in the 240 vs the 270 ? If so whereHurricane 225/240/270 ran flawless 1000 miles didn't check mileage

What clutching r u using I'm having a hard time seeing the difference between the 240 and 270 but I do see 15 # of boost with the 240 and 17 # with the 270 and thinking of doing a 22 tooth top gear but like to come out of the hole quickerHurricane stock muffler tune bundle worked flawlessly all season over 3000km
I tuned my 19 at 0 km.
If you do a stock muffler tune I suggest to add Bov, and 3 bar map sensor. I run just the tune at first then add Bov ,3 bar and cai and it mad a good difference. I run the #*$&@ out of my sled this season!! Mostly on 270 or 240 when riding with wife I would run 225
I recently bought the hurricane trail muffler and changed tunes to 240 270 300hp to compare!!
Aftermarket muffler tune definitely spools up turbo faster it Hits like a freight train ..lol
Nice thing with the hurricane trail muffler it is just as quiet as stock just more of a growl and you can rivet the stock muffler stamped cover to the muffler for a total stock looking muffler

Thanks for the info, I guess i should have just gone for the complete package and now it would cost extra to update the tune plus the cost of the 3bar sensor. for the very little gain i am just going to keep running what i have. Do u see much difference in the 240 vs the 270 ? If so where
I'm guessing the reason you are not seeing much if any difference between between the tunes is you are slipping the belt in the driven like I was. I ended up having to use stiffer Cat torsion secondary springs in the driven to prevent belt slippage on the big tunes. 240 runs happily on the B/O Dalton spring, 270 and up did not for me. So had to go to much stiffer Cat secondary springs. Once I did that, I could keep a hold on the belt better on the big tunes.

Yes I do agree with cost vs little gain. I just wanted to inform you about the need for an update tune if you wanted to add the 3 bar, whereas I did not, until I approached my dealer with my wanting a 3 bar. Sounds like you have your set up working well!

What is the price and what is the gain?Imo its a cheap price for the gain and it shouldnt be an option. Again in my opinion

3 bar map is only 165.00.
Flash would have been same price. Reflash to 3bar should be free.
If riders are seeing higher numbers on the dash, the ecm is also recognizing the pressure difference.
Added bonus= multimap
If you want to run larger tunes, now you can.

Heck we may as well get the 4 bar and be done with it lol
