Hi rx1 blue,

What did the dealer what for the springs and bar? Today I was told the bar is not available until next month and they did not have a price. I couldn't decide on the springs. What rate spring were you looking at, the 2.1 or 1.9 or 1.7? Thanks

:?: Could someone please explain what the "straight rate spring" does and where it goes. I am getting confused because there are posts talking about a straight rate spring in clutches as well as the suspension. I believe we are talking about two different things and you are confusing the Swiss guy.

There has been much discussion about using a straight rate spring to improve inside ski lift, but this is a suspension spring right?

These straight rate springs will replace your existing front shock springs. The stocks ones are "progressive" rate and some have found that with a straight rate spring on the front will greatly reduce inside ski lift and result in better handling. I will be putting a set on my shorty.

I picked up a set from Maxx over the offseason. They are blue but slightly different than the Yamaha Blue.

Muskrat,
My dealer wanted $300 for springs and a bar. I did not ask what size the springs were but they said I could have either the 11 or 12mm bar.

My real question is what is the difference between the Yamaha Spring's and the Max Preformance Springs. The Max Preformance Springs are cheaper buy ~ $30.

The '03s came with a progressive rate spring. The Maxx Perf springs are straight rate. I believe MXZ900 highlighted early in the season that the straight rate springs will reduce inside ski-lift without changing the sway bar and adding longer links.

I am trying just that this winter.

Yes you can buy them from Maxx Perf...I mentioned that earlier in the post. I am not sure if you can buy them from Yamaha.
