Has anyone entcountered this? I have a GT model. With 144 studs with the following pattern, dealer installed. They are scraping the back metal plate on the upper tunnel. I weigh 170lbs and have the rear suspension set stiff.

The worse part, the studs are actually way to short. They are inch and a quarter in length so there at the same level as the track. Yes, this is useless. (dealer installed), I went back to have them replaced.

My dealers solution, install the same studs on a new 1inch track.

Any advice?

Dont have a solution for you but i have an RTX and have the same thing going on. I thought it happened before i adjusted my rear shock and haven't noticed any further damage, have stock track with 1.325 woodys

What i have done in the past is take an old hifax and cut one side of the dove tail off and fit it to the inside of the tunnel protector frome the upper rear wheel's to the end of the protector, You will end up with an L shape after you cut one side of the dove tail off and you will need to cut some out to fit past the exhaust and notch it near the end of the protector where it curves. Pop rivit it to the inside of the protector and you are good to go (should give an extra 1/4' more protection). What is going on is at higher speed's the track will whip when you hit a good one and slap the plate and ding it up. Once it is over the top wheel's and going strait tword's the drives it is not a problem. kviper

Yep,Did the hifax trick pulled the rivets out first trip out and lost 1 piece of hifax, the other is very loose and is striking the track. If you could get a screw/nut and counter sync it, it might hold better. Personally, I'm having shorter studs installed..I had thought that was the problem, a dealer installed studs that extend a solid 1/2 past the lug...not sure whats going on with your short studs...how is your track tension? Are you rathceting at all?

I would get the dealer to pay for improper set up. I'm running 192 1.375's and I don't have one mark anywhere. I don't baby my RTX either.

Tighten your friggin track

Only way those studs hit is if the track is loose..
