Any one have the supercharger Kill the motor On decelleration. On and off the throttle. I have a friend with a supercharger in His boat and if he chopes th throttle real quick It will kill the motor..

I am running the SC as hammer said. It has been cutting out on me after a wide open spurt. I know exactly what is causing this and I'm told by MPI that a fix is in the works. The sled will die after a burnout or a 1/4 mile run. Since the float bowls are pressurized through the airbox, then you let off the throttle the carbs close up and there is no where for the boost (air) to go. I'm seeing as much as a 5lb boost spike when letting off the throttle (100% to 0%). This floods the engine and it dies. I can repeat it, and I can save it from stalling. Currently I am running at 10lbs, and have even blown the airbox off of the carbs letting off of the throttle quick.

Turbo sleds have experienced the same problem and most kits come with a blow off valve to prevent the flooding now. As I said before, I have spoken to MPI about this and I am told a fix will be coming out.

Besides that issue, I love every part of the SC so far. I think it will be excellent for my style of riding. Hopefully this weekend I will be testing more on the clutching as I've been rained out the last couple times and have less than 10 runs so far.

There is some slight compressor surge on the high boost setting. I never had the motor actually stall, but I did have it come close a few times. They are working on a fix for this at the present time.

yes, that is certainly a possibility. I have considered going ahead and just doing adding the bov. After talking to MPI, they will be testing their fix for the problem shortly on the snow. Once they get everything figured out, and are sure it works the way they want it to, it will be a free upgrade to all the kits they have out there. That is what I am holding out for. If it does take too long though, I can see a blow off valve in my future though.

It is very surprising to me that this problem has not been taken care of already. This goes to show that this has NOT been thoroughly tested to give the customer the best product. Especially after we have gone through this with the turbo installs. No excuses!!

Chubster, welcome to the "Blue Side"...haha, I won't disclose any names, but I go by "LabradorBoy" on most all other sled boards, you should know who it is.

I see that you're planning to run a SC, I have an MCXpress front mount turbo on my RXWarrior running 10-12psi and it rocks.

About your "dying" questions, my turbo was poor before I installed a Volkswagen-type BOV right on the charge tube. Before I installed the BOV, the sucker would just die immediately after chopping the throttle and blew the intercooler clean off at least twice before we figured out what the heck was going on. It's the boost "spike" in the charge tube once the carb slides close up that was causing the problems.

I would say that the SC guys will have a similar fix for the same problem.

I guess i dont think it will happen with the apex as there are no float bowls to over pressure. I am talking of the hp the supercharger still takes on deceleration, it takes power to spool up and it will take the same amount off to a point to spool down. Efi should not have the problems as the carbed ones. I hope this yamaha works as good as it looks. I do have a MC express coming too so I will have options.

You hit the nail on the head RX Fun. Boost is boost no matter what makes it, if the slides/plates are closed it has to go somewhere. Bov are very important to have. The apex should be better, since the "black box" that controls fuel will turn off the fuel supply quicker than the carb models. But in the long run boost is fun no matter who is making the product, its all about having fun outside in the snow. ;)!

Red, yeah you're right. I'm looking forward to having fun this winter again. Still the "Big Dawg" around here as far as I know. You would have thought that these issues would have been dealt with, especially since we've been through it with the turbos. Just looking for everyone to have a good time on their 4 strokes!

With the monoshock skid in the Attak you won't need extroverts because it keeps the tension on the track alot better. I ran my 05 RX-1 on the high boost Stage 1 setting without any ratcheting problems.

That,s good to know Allen I never thought to ask, Am looking forward to getting sc so I can get started
