Hello all,

I am interested to know if I have my suspension setup properly, I have my front A arm flat, my mono shock in the middle for spring tension and ride set at a couple clicks on the hard side for the selector. transfer rod is out almost all the way and the front limiter strap is in the middle holes. I am about 240lbs and do all groomed trail riding but I still want the sled to hook if I have to "play" in the field. I have an 1.25 ice ripper xt track no studs. it seems to handle and ride well but a lot of people have the limiter straps shortened up in front. Is that only studded machines?

For groomed trail riding I have my transfer rod almost all the way in or near min transfer to keep weight on the skis while on the power.
Limiter strap is preference. I have mine in the stock location with my mtn skis and Snowtrackers. No darting and has excellent bite in the corners.
What type of skis and carbides are you running?

At 240 u need the bigger spring in the rear. i think. I think the stock spring is for 175 lb i think. lift suspension of the ground measure spring length. sit on it the spring should compress 40-45 mm. correct me if I'm wrong here guys. while u are having the spring changed have the shock re valved.

Running Simmons Flex skis with 4 inch carbide x 4. what is the stock location for the strap?

I would only change the strap if you are having trouble with the skis holding the corner.
A lot have pulled it up one notch to compensate for the stock ski design and help reduce hyfax wear in the front of the skid.

My Slides only wear in the middle between the rear and front wheels.

240+ here. X2 on the bigger spring and revalve. I have the GT (EC), but I rode a stock '08 LTX and had to crawl over some moguls for fear of breaking the skid. Ditto on minimal transfer (if you want to keep the skis down and be able to turn) you won't win many drag races, but you'll be able to corner under power with minimal push. Front sounds about right - personal preference there too.
