Swaybar update help???? 12 or 13 /??

I want to update my swaybar on my 03 shorty.

1. Should I go with the 12 or the 13mm?

2.Can someone give me the run down on the complete parts I will need?

bar, square link (goes on bar end), round eye links, bushings?, bolts?

Bar, links, bushings. Just get the 13, no point in going only half way.

1. Is that the square link that connects to the end of the bar? I assume because the bar is larger in diameter?

2. The round links are ok?

1. 04/05 links have larger bar AND are longer.

2. the "dog bone" is the same.

I agree... 13mm... dont go half way... there is no disadvantage to the 13mm over a 12..

I'm new to Yamaha and don't pretend to know from experience but, somewhere on this site I thought I read that the 13mm bar might stiiffen up the ride more than the 12 mm. Is that true? I'm a girlie man and want soft ride. I'm just looking to reduce the inside ski lift. studdog

10mm: 78.54mm^2
11mm: 95.03mm^2
12mm: 113.10mm^2
13mm: 132.73mm^2

I actually notice it pretty good when I hit something off-side. It used to just cruise over stuff, now it jumps somewhat harshly.

So now Im re thinking. I went to the Pioneer site and they say that adding the longer links to the standard 03 10mm bar will help with ski lift quite a bit. Sooooo.

I ride groomed trails 95% of the time. I ride semi agressive maybe 75% of the time. I do want to help my ski lift so when I push it I can go confidently. But I dont want to make it a harsh ride either... Keep in mind that I have completely stock suspension and intend to add the 5mm washers in back too.

What do you want to do??? Rail around corners or ride like a sally?? LOL

Quit jackin around and just get the 13mm bar and longer links..

Change to straight rate springs before you do ANYTHING else.

My sled is having the 13mm bar fitted as we speak. I'll probably drop the front preload a few more turns as recommended by Pioneer (Ohlins) and see how it works.

My front end with the Ohlins was very compliant and controlled even on quite big hits, 3 clicks up from standard on the damping.
