Can't wait to see what this new tune has to offer. Is it just me or do we not see much from Ben at TD and Dave at Hurricane any more?

It's a header he is going to add,I will not do any engine altering being I want it to lastEveryone raves about it for sure. Ben was actually commenting on my post when he mentioned a new version was coming. I've been on the fence about whether to go with MS16 or PT SM.

That would make sense. Max16 w/ a TD header, BOV, and 3 bar must make some nice power.

Pretty quiet for sure. Ben hasn't been on the forum since December. No testing videos at all this year. He must be hard at work on the Doo 900T.Can't wait to see what this new tune has to offer. Is it just me or do we not see much from Ben at TD and Dave at Hurricane any more?

Buddy has a 19 and is thinking of going for the 250 eco tune instead of the 16SM. Its in sale right now He wont be adding a cai or bov so is it worth it or just pay up and get the max 16 without cai.

Ecotrail at 250hp requires a free flowing muffler. The same tune for the stock muffler is rated at 230hp.

A trail header tune is needed. It’s been a long time coming. That would make sense. Max16 w/ a TD header, BOV, and 3 bar must make some nice power.

There is also Powertrail for stock muffler at 250hp. It will run 87 octane in a pinch.

Huh, I did not know about this sm tune by TD. His tunes are many now, just wow!
Back when I purchased my first Ecotrail tune, both Ecotrail and Powertrail were not sm tunes, so one needed to make a choice of what mod or aftermarket muffler you wanted. Then came the Max Spool 16 2 bar which was their first true SM tune.
Now I run the Max Spool 16 3 bar.
I will say that with the old Ecotrail tune and smm, I could not tell a seat of the pants difference between that tune and stock, but running 87 was not a concern which was nice.
Max Spool 16 2 or 3 bar, oh yeah very big difference from stock. Hell with that seat of the pants thing, it is also arm stretching pull and engine just sounds different with much more grunt. Very noticeable difference.
FYI: All 3 tunes are much the same mpg wise though.
Seems like 13-15 mpg is my norm. Have seen up to 17.5 mpg once, but I was riding with a newbie who’s top end was 45.
Pretty good for a sled that had terrible mileage when new and stock. I use to fight for 10 mpg. Warranty issues in case you were wondering, 2 fuel regulators, injector, and many other components were changed out on two different occasions.
So snow conditions, how hard you ride and clutching makes a big diff for sure.

I will be trying out max 16 sm real soon with 3 bar and turbo smart valve.......parts should be here tommorow and Ill have to get the flash update, I have eco trail sm and I found that made a very big difference over stock. Very docile tune and feels stock till higher in the rpm range. Got 15mpg average last weekend riding with my wife over nearly 200 miles. Some high speed, some low speed running.......little bit of everything and I have 1.75 track and 24/50 gears. I thought that was pretty goodHuh, I did not know about this sm tune by TD. Please comment if you have on.
I am going to purchase the TD Max spool 16Sm Tune
I plan to leave everything stock except clutch weights ( NO CAI, NO TS BOV, NO 3 Bar )
I realize TD recommends Dalton QAY-70 weighted to 72 grams.
Questions
1.) can stock clutching work with this set-up?
2.) should I start 70 or 72?
3.) I hear RPM drops with XP’s-825 belt would stock weight work using this belt?
4.) will QAY- 70 empty be too heavy for this set-up 8JP- belt
5.) will QAy-70 empty be too heavy for this set-up XX-825 belt.
6.) what springs and wraps do you recommend?
