I'm running 73g with qay 70s and the stock 35 on the 8jp.INteresting, I assumed 8Jp with 35 helix and daltons would be in the 73-74 gram range with max 16. With just sm ecotrail and 35-39 helix I was at 8600-8650 with qay70 empty and stock springs, I figured the extra 30+ hp would need 3-4 grams to harness it but guess not. Goes to show every sled is a little different with what satisfies them. On another note I just got back from a quick 45 miles ride and I added an additional 3/8 set screw to the daltons so Im at 69.8 grams now with dalton bronze, 3-3 yellow spring on rear with 35 helix and Im getting 8950-9050 with ultimax. Cool clutches, stock like cruising rpms and smooth and responsive. Very happy with this tune so far, run quality is great and its docile when needed and wakes up when asked!

Thanks for that reply. I knew not all were stock components. The larger diameter rollers cause higher revs and thus extra weight from what I have found. Your TP rollers 14.8 or 15.8 ?
35 - 142 O-S-O primary, holy #*$&@ that is low engagement and high top end force. Very interesting!
Little things do make differences when setting up clutches.
Friends Winder had problem with primary rollers, so he put the 14.8 in his! His rpms went way too high with no other clutch components changed. Just those rollers.
So that is why I stated all stock components with my set up for that weight.
I did forget to mention that I have been using the 22T since my first tune.
But thanks again for your set up with your QAYs. I may have to try that if I choose to try those again.
Haven’t touched my set up over 1.5 seasons now. Just really like it!

14.8 TP rollers
What kind of engagement rpm are you seeing with that low 35 lb primary spring on your set up?
I had tried the Yamaha Bl Bn Bl with it’s 50 lbs engagement force but was still at about 3200 -3300 with the QAY at 71.8.
Good info for me!

Thanks!
I’ve tried some marvelous trails in Quebec. They spoiled me with their incredible trail systems.
Snowmobile club / sugar houses, dual lanes, marvelous bridges, etc etc.
Enjoy your trip!

Im running tp rollers as well, the 14.8 and there was no noticeable difference from the stock 14.5. I got to try them a few hrs after running the yamaha ones. I'm assuming .3mm larger isnt going to make much difference but maybe the 14.8's with certain weight profiles are more noticable? either way some good info on this thread. Bunch of different setups all getting their target

Should we be removing any foam around the muffler with this tune, or the pad under the muffler?

Hi Dennis,i also run TP 14.8 in winder primary, and have TP orange and it engages around 2700 shifts to 9000+ TP orange is 35-135 lbs on my DTYA-1,s at 73.3 grms that is now with Dalton helix 41/35 blk/tan at 60* But tomorrow when I get back to camp,i plan on trying stock 35 w/either stock yellow at 60* or TP orange at 50* on stock 35 helix and retry the stock 8jp but will have to add 2 grms more weight for that belt. What kind of engagement rpm are you seeing with that low 35 lb primary spring on your set up?
