Go with 4.5 gram rivits in every hole, and stock primary spring, this setup would help reduce belt ballooning / slippage up top. I think you'll be surprised. Just rivits and a secondary spring.

hey guys, just got back from a weekend riding, my sled is a 16 ltx se big venom clutch kit, mbrp race can(being removed shortly was to loud) and a 8DN belt, pulls really good in the trails, corner to corner the sleds an animal, but top end its terrible 135-140kph i feel like the sled was faster before the clutch kit, any thing i might be missing? the sled is running around 8800 rpm at wot

now on previouse 2 stroke sleds i ran, i have tested cans and the mbrp can always made the sled run slower then the stock muffler, could this be whats holding the sled back? not enough back pressure maybe? the sled pulls amazing then literally hits a wall at 135kph

2014 ltx brand new I got 84 mph tops. I put an ulmer clutch kit in secondary was machined by allen and ran the apex belt. 700.00 later I saw 89 mph. i then got an MBRP trail can and lowered my gearing by 2 teeth so I could still run the stock chain and get about 92 mph in good conditions on u.p. michigan grades. very good low and midrange on sled but top end is very lackluster at best

I radared my 14 rtx se last week on the lake plowed track and was surprised ,104 mph with only air box mod stock weights cleaned clutches 8dn belt with 14.5 rollers and Schmitt Bros comfort spring. This is the same set up except air box on my old 12 nytro xtx . Don't see any reason to clutch except maybe more bottom end .It still hauls from low end to top end.

2014 ltx. Done nothing more than 8dn, mbrp trail can. 93 every day.

Was surprised how well the sled took to trail can. It isn't any faster but runs well with it. Just bolted it on.

Sounds nice too. Has a little something but not enough to get a ticket.

Another tip my dealer told me was to loosen the track to 50 mm slack with a 20 lb weight in the middle which really made a difference in rolling resistance and top speed. Different then the way I set my apex track with exup.
