The Super Rat is here!!!!!

secondary

When using the rat weights in an attak or apex do you leave the secondary stock or do you need to change the helix? These weights sound promising may have to buy a kit anyone have a end of winter sale on them?

Richie R

Pretty sure it is the stock secondary.

1. Most are keeping the secondary stock, but of course you can play with that all you'd like.

2. They are brand new so I doubt too many sales on them......

The cost of this kit is really cheap when you take into consideration the cost of any other bolt on horsepower products out there. 12HP to the track, not 6 or 10 etc on the crank!!! This more effiecent clutching will make the other power adders more noticable, giving a higher percentage of the gain to the track. Clutching is the best mod to any sled.

I ran these weights for 300+ miles on my nytro xtx 2 weeks ago. I was running DnF's previously, my first impression was that they have a much smoother engagement, are way quieter, excellent backshift and I was seeing a higher top speed than I was seeing with the DnFs. I didn't drag race with them.

What are you seeing for RPM at full throttle?

HI leeko, how much higher was your top speed than dfw,you must have a preety good idea.

Bad sled,

8400

Snowbeast,

I never saw over a 100mph with DnF's over multiple conditions over 1000 miles of riding. I was able to hit 104 with the Scott's Rat weight setup.

That RPM seems way off. Don't they want to be @8900-9100?????

what feels fast is usually slow and what feels slow is usually slow...

since I now where this design eminated from Id bet it has less clamping force on the belt the dnf's or two speeds at engagement...but better backshift...

Did you mean to post 10,400 rpms, instead of 8400,i hope. I guess my next question will be,have you ever had your sled past 100 on a longer run of any kind,if this is speedo, than maybe there is something wrong with the sled, even the slow apex's i have seen run 113-115 speedo on snow, and on ice 120-122 are you all stock other than the clutch kit??

Oh am i bad,you are on a nytro, heck even those rpms seem low,my boy has an all stock 08 shortie and his did 103 gps on hard pack snow,on say 1500 foot run @ 9000-9050 rpms,i was told 8800 to 9000 is where the nytro wants to run.

My Nytro with filters, headers, pipe and Pc3 performs the best anything over 9,000rpm.

we were at a radar run this weekend. Besides winning the top speed with a turbo apex at 221km(137mph) new record for this event. Running 12-13 pds of boost. The apex had a MCX 290 turbo kit, this package is awesome! We were lucky to help clutch this sled. Great time.

There were many sled running.
Our nytro was 10 km(6mph) fastest than other nytro's and right in the middle with apex's. This nytro is a 121 track everything else stock.
Please remember speeds are different everyday according to many factors.
This day against other sleds is the result.

As for rpm discussion, our nytro was clutched to 8500 rpm.
see the graph below, this is the dyno of the nytro when it came out.

Be safe.
