Hahahahhha... Mulot,,, to save weight yeah... :tg: ...
Monster is going to be mad at you, he swears by Bender :drink: ....

You don't think its because of that???

Have you ridden in deep powder lately?

I want to get rid of as much weight on the back as possible and the front mount doesnt need the oil pump which weight a few pounds by itself and is in the nose...

Ok for the trail, but not really for powder!

And yes Monster swears by bender!

But I must admit this combo deliver in the HP department!

But I also realized that much oomph is of no use in deep snow if the is a certain amount of lag a (split second which is too much)

So I was to install a nitrous system as anti-lag but that add some weight which I don't want...

So I may trade a few HP for a bit less lag and less weight for my application!

Were it a trail machine this discussion would never have occured!

I will mid-mount it!!!

Lot of fabrication but that time invested will pay by the far greater weight balance of my apex!!!!

Last time I looked Bender was out of business....... I have No lag to speak of with my 310 hp MC-Xpress kit..... 17 lbs boost..

There is nothing wrong with the Bender Kit. You just have to tune it and there are tricks to get rid of the Lag. All I do is Climb and bash powder and my set up is great. Ask Rob T who has one of TJ's top running supercharged Apex.
My rear mount bender turbo RX-1 beat him out of the hole, (but very close) & destroyed him in Mid and top end. We raced going up a Mt.
I am 340lbs to 350lbs with gear on, imagine if I was normal size?
You can get 18lbs to 19lbs of boost at evelation with the stage I kit with out the intercooler. If you are having trouble going thru the powder your sled is not running correct.
Heat wrap the turbo and pipe.
Need to Fab a new inlet to the oil tank to solve the oil issues
Have your Air intake come out the back instead of under the seat.
Make sure your needle are set correctly.
Make sure you have no, zero air leakes, this was the hard part. you need to seal all the connection, Tees hoses ect..
I have done no motor work and ride at 18lbs-19lbs of boost all day every day with only 50/50 114 & 92 octane fuel

No intercooler, did I read correctly???? :o|

And no lag !!!! Sorry but I really don't buy this one!

Turbo has lag, and whatever you do to it, it will ALWAYS have some amount of lag!

I will midmount it not really to get rid of lag but to get rid of some pig!

Your right I do have some Lag but if I can beat a supercharger out of the hole you need to tell me what that means?? If there is a problem of not running a intercooler at evevation don't you think something might have happen to my motor about 4,000 mile ago?
I am having a blast with my sled and have not broke down and have beat other turbos and supercharger so you can agree or disagree with my finding on the Bender Turbo but I must say you don't know crap unless you have Tuned on one for 3 or 4 years. I welcome you to come ride my sled and tell me I am incorrect but untill you do I am just stating the seat of the pants facts of the Bender Turbo and my findings. Tuning was most definatly not an overnite or bolt on project. There is so many little tricks that need to be done to make it run correctly.
You guy's do what you do and I will help the people with the Bender Turbo that would like help. There is nothing wrong with this kit other than there is alot of tuning that needs to be done.

If I can beat a supercharger out of the hole you need to tell me what that means??
It means he really needs to work on his setup......lol

This is what I've heard from, professional tuners, SC owners out of Canada, and Hauck Racing that have run their SCs against their rear mount TCs... No one has claimed to out perform on top-end/max-hp, which would be silly, but they do say that, more often than not, trail setup, at the same boost levels, it took a considerable distance for their rear mount TCs to catch and overtake their SCs... My point being, setup, and state-of-tune are HUGE factors... A perfect example of this is how much reaction time and 60-foot times make in NHRA competition i.e. setup and state-of-tune.

If you did not attend, read through the posts from past years Big Dog/Big Iron/Fairview threads and note how many rear mount verses how many front mount TCs people are running for a baseline...then...note how many of those competitors have switched or are switching to a front mount for this upcoming season...must be a reason.

Yes your right, I am just happy with the Mods I have done to try to get rid of the Lag & alot of people bash the Bender kit. It is a completly differen't sled after tinkering for a couple of years. Those guy's at BI and Fairview are in a different game than the average Turbo rider, 26lbs to 30lbs of boost, WOW :ORC
For the average Turbo guy the Bender kit can be made to compete very well just like the James boy's from Enterprise Orgeon, Their Bender kits run pretty dam good.
Mountain Mod Mania III video shows that.
If someone is really looking for help with the Bender Kit I would be happy to tell them some of the Mods I have done inorder to get it to run. PM me.

Troy from TJ's sports said the same thing about a rear mount turbo beating a supercharger, Troy said that the supercharged sled owned by Robin Taylor from Pinedale Wyoming, was one of his better running superchargers and there where about 15 people on the mountain that saw the results. I don't care if I am the fastest but the Bender Turbo does work well after the Kinks are work out.
