I used hardware store washers stacked with the thinner Yamaha washers. The hardware washers were .045 thick. Make sure the washer outside diameter is smaller than the machined surface area so it sits flat.

Just an update:
The Thunder Products clutch kit comes with everything you need to have the best clutch kit out there, for stock applications and with sleds that are modded with airbox, exhaust and ECU flash. The kit includes Thunder Products glide washers, Thunder Products fully adjustable weights, Clamp that will hold the primary sheaves together so you can pull the weights out without tearing the clutch apart and secondary spring that will not coil bind.
Lots of comments from people who aren't even TY members saying they put the kit in because their Vipers wouldn't even run 86 mph, but after installing the kit are as much as 102mph with everything else stock!
Thunder Products also has a new Belt Adjuster/Belt Removal that works awesome!

I bought a Big Venom Kit off someone that never ended up installing it. The weight written on the box is 48.2. Is this setup correct for a stock sled. Not much of a tuner and new to clutching. Again my sled has no mods. Your youtube install looks pretty straight forward so I'm gonna give it a shot.

Yep the 48 is the correct for stock sled just ordered venom kit and spoke to Lon yesterday. Lon at Thunderproducts fine tunes the weights depending on weight, sled/track and riding style.

For anyone running a stock viper
48.2 Heavy Hitters base – ¾ Allen in heel, 3/8 aluminum in center with 3/8 aluminum and a thick washer in the tip. Stock primary spring (Blue Silver Blue) with a glide washer on each end of the primary spring. Secondary setup was Midnight Blue set at 6-2 with the stock 43° helix

Hey NOS, just installed my kit this weekend but set the secondary spring to 6-1. I see you recommend to set it at 6-2. I have a 2016 NA Viper LTX with MBRP trail can and studs. Should I change to 6-2?

Only difference I found was in engine braking when letting off of throttle. Tried 6-1,6-2, one coasted better, sorry forgot which one though.Hey NOS, just installed my kit this weekend but set the secondary spring to 6-1. I see you recommend to set it at 6-2. Jazz, if you are going to be driving trail....leave it at 6-1. If you will be doing off-trail, switch it to 6-2.
6-1 will coast more ( and shift faster ) like swampcat mentioned.

Just got myself a kit as well. Sled is Stock MTX 162" -15 with Stingrays airbox mod, does this setup work for me as well or do I need to change anything? Thanks!

Skytt, What elevation will you be running? If around 5,000 ft, you should be close with that setup, but the airbox mod will pull more air so you will probably make more power. At 11,000 ft. I had the 1/4 allen buried in the heel followed by the 3/4 allen so I had 1 inch in the heel. Then I had a 3/8 steel in the tip only. Worked good.
If you are at lower elevation (under 3,000 ft.) I would keep the center hole a 3/8 aluminum, but would change the tip weight to a 3/8 steel with a thick washer. if you are too high or close to the rev limiter, then put in a 7/16 steel in the tip with no washer.

Since the highest mountain in Sweden is about 6900 ft, I will be driving 90% of the time below 1700ft.
So ill try 3/4 Allen, 3/8 aluminium and 3/8 steel with thick washer.
How does that sound? I know its very personal how you like your setup but im trying to get a starting Point since we dont have any snow yet.
Thanks a lot NOS
