Time for a change !!! Thoughts about 2018 Yamaha sleds

personally for me, its all about the engines.
I ride yamaha for engine first, quality second.
For years i have sacrificed suspension, or handeling just to have the best motors money can buy.
I can fix anything myself. But dont want to once the season starts, i just want to ride.
Engine failures are what will keep me sidelined, almost everything else is a relatively quick fix.
i can honestly say that since 2002 i have never once missed a day of riding because of an engine related issue. (2002 viper. 2006 apex. 2014 viper)
Back 2-3 years ago i struggled with the idea of yamaha exiting the market. Since owning my viper, and seeing the new sidewinder, have come to realise that as long as yamaha supplies motors, i will be happy.

X2.....Exactly why I chose Yamaha!! As long as there's a Yammy motor in it.....I'll ride any make!!!

A limited season (in comparison to Bikes/PWC) means I don't want any issues that could keep me sidelined!

My Riding partner has been on Polaris and Ski Doo the last 2 yrs, and we've missed more than a few "big " trips due to his sled being down.

I believe next year Yamaha will make some Apex changes. Maybe make the Apex the ''Cadillac'' of the snow world. Better yet the "V" model Cadillac that smokes the Ferrari's & still rides like a Caddy. Maybe Carbon Fiber, new Yamaha chassis or maybe upgraded motor. I just hope they don't get rid of the 4 banger. I'll be ready for a new sled in about 4 years. That will give Yamaha & TTY members plenty of time to dial it in for me. Hopefully a 180 hp, 530 lb. sled with a CAETEPESS suspension. That's a "Crazy #*$&@ Extra Travel Extra Plush Extra Special Suspension".

Hmmm an Apex powered Venture! Im in! Well as long as its not in a Cat chassis!
